adesw:
Spent the last 4 hours in A&E.
'Nuff said.
Hope you OK. Friday night in A&E is probably one of the worst times to be there.

I realised that after a few hours. I managed to wack my head on the metal bit on fire doors, and there was quite a lot of blood coming out, and it hurt like a ... once it got bored of bleeding the cut itself wasnt as bad as the amount of blood led me to believe, So theyve superglued it back together, and I cant wash my hair for a week despite it being crispy with blood.

Re: What annoyed you today?
A Christian woman who has already thrown her religious conviction to the wind by working as a registrar, thereby in Christian eyes participating in a system that supports adultary by marrying divorcees and couples living in sin, has just been successful in her claim of religious discrimination because Islington Council required her to abide by its equal opportunities policy and officiate on civil partnership ceremonies. These are apparently against her religion. Apparently she was upset about being called homophobic. I have no doubt that everyone will agree with me that this is the compensation culture gone mad and that we're all going to hell in a handcart bending over backwards changing our laws for these fundamentalists. Next week, a Jedi refuses to serve a man on the till at Tesco because 'the Dark Side is strong in this one'...

Yes - in what should be a secular society, I can't see how you can pick
and choose who you deal with if you're in a public office. It's
difficult when you're faced with two minorities of course - I tend to
go with the one for whom it's nature, ie if you're homosexual that's
simply a fact of life - religious belief is either an accident of birth
or something you choose to follow, so either go by the rules or get
another job.

Nice to know the compensation culture is secular and equal in treating the different faiths. The primary point here is that the council has to respect her religious sensibilities, much like the hairdresser's had to respect the religious sensibilities of the girl compensated for refusing to abandon her head scarf. Re: What annoyed you today?
Slightly at odds with the French approach then who have denied citizenship to a Moroccan woman who wears a burqa on the grounds that her "radical" practice of Islam is incompatible with basic French values such as equality of the sexes. Full story , Here . Wasn't there also a time when the UK had values?

Re: What annoyed you today?
Do councils and government departments have sections to rout out what is seen as non-political correctness? If they do what are the people that work in these departments called, and how is their work measured?
What attributes do you have to have to work in such a department and do they have targets to meet? Must you wear sandals, wear wooly jumpers and/or dungarees, and live on lentils to qualify for such a position?
Is their office next to room 101?

Head injuries always bleed a lot and look worse than they actually are. Milk it for all you can.

Re: What annoyed you today?
But Alan, the fire doors were clearly inadequately placed and in poor lighting. Whats more Adesw hasn't been provided with adequate training in how to use them properly. As for his employer's shameless failure to provide counselling to help him get over the trauma of seeing all that blood, why thats positively criminal. Put your feet up Adesw, you'll never need work again

Re: What annoyed you today?
Just got back from work actually.
I can accept that it was completely my fault for pratting around, though the leaflet given to me at the hospital had an advert on the back for how to sue that *** that did this to you!
I shouldnt have taken a running jump...Tis all good, Though Ive been feeling slightly nauseous/dizzy on and off all day. As for the washing thing, I cant stand going a day without showering as I feel all slimey, and I hate having greasy hair.
