adesw:What if your mute? Can you still apply?
You can apply, but you won't get very far as they won't be able to hear your answers in the interview.
What annoyed me (hmm - yes, it was still continuing today)
I was working in Gibraltar at the beginning of this week. The flight home was due to leave at 17:15 and I'd get home at 20:15...
At 16:30 ish, there was an announcement that the inbound sleazyjet flight had diverted to Malaga due to the weather (bright and sunny, but wind blowing across the runway)
18:30 ish we were herded onto a fleet of minibuses for the journey to Malaga. At that time a Monarch flight taxied up to the terminal having landed safely.
We then drove to the border (100yards for those who don't know the area) and joined the queue to cross. We then unloaded the bus carrying the luggage and did circuits of the area to kill time whilst each bus unloaded its passengers in turn (there was only room for one bus at a time in the layby with the luggage in it). Once all buses were empty, they drove across the border whilst we had to walk with our luggage - at this point, we discovered that the Spanish border control were screening every bag, with only one machine.
19:30 ish (1 hour after leaving the airport 100 yards away) we rejoined our buses and set off for Malaga.
21:00 (Spanish time i.e. very nearly the time I should have been home) we arrived at Malaga airpoort to discover that the flight was due to leave at 23:00. Just for good measure, sleazyjet only had 2 checkin desks to process the entire planeload of people that had arrived in a fleet of buses.
23:00 ish we took off and arrived at Gatwick at 00:30 (U.K. time).
At this time of night, baggage handlers are somewhat thin on the ground, so I was reunited with my case at 01:30 and went looking for the driver who'd been sent to pick me up. He was doing circuits of the airport as he kept getting moved on, not being an official Gatwick taxi.
I got home at 03:00 this morning and boy did I feel rough went the alarm went off at 06:00 to go to work.
Still, 2 bits of good news:
1) We all got a free cup of tea and packet of pringles on the plane
2) It was a business trip so all the time I was standing in various queues, I was on overtime
