Darn it - it was a mock up which in turn came in from citicism from.......yes of course......the politically correct and do gooders brigade who saw in it a very negative message. Me - being the optimist that I am, only saw the positive side. Scenario - Chavs be warned - this time it was only a mock up - the next time live ammo will be used. As an aside, why it that Chavs, or layabouts in general really, always seem to have the best clothes in terms of brand, the biggest TV's, always seem to have money for cigs and booze and are on permanent holiday? And when will people like the woman in that short BBC clip actually get round to calling a Spade a Spade?

It would appear that it's also not politically correct to extract the michael from the hunting groups at the same time as the fashionably challenged. Judging by the interview with the SNP at least. Yet another group with a sense of humour failure.

Interesting vid H. It does highlight how political correctness has gone mad.. "Only members of a minority group can makes jokes about that minority group". The line I did like was, "It's about the quality and intention of the joke".. however, that won't wash in dear old blighty. Perhaps it is the outward attitude of minority groups that are the problem. I'm Irish and I find it offensive when people use the expression, "don't have a Paddy", but I can't have a go just for that because are people are ignorant to the history behind such statements. Black people can use the N word, I can't. You can't make an observation about the inherit differences between man and woman without being accused of being sexist. It really puts the grate, in Great Britain!

My grandparents gave me a nice, big cheque for my 21st...I took it to the bank and paid it in but then yesterday the money got taken out of my account (leaving me with not a lot!). I got a letter today saying that it got taken out because the cheque was 'mutilated', and they sent me the cheque back which had been scribbled over, torn in half and then taped back together again...

The mind boggles.

Chase them up as it wasn't damaged when you paid it in. My guess is a cheque sorting machine jammed and your cheque was damaged by the bank staff.

ps. If it has been three clear days since you paid it in then they shouldn't have removed the money from your account.

I don't think it had been 3 days, but there's not a lot I can do anyway. The cheque is useless and they've given my grandparents their money back, so they just have to write me another one. It's not really a big deal, I'm just wondering why someone would do that to my cheque, but your explanation makes sense.

What annoyed me today was to find Donny ( VXISME ) has closed his gallery down.. Yet again one of the best photographers on the site has decided to leave.. I for one will miss his witty banter, as Im sure many others will too.. I wish I knew how to stop the mass evacuation that seems to be going on.. I personally wish people would be more critical, instead of everyone being so nice to each other.. how can anyone learn anything if they think their shots are as wonderful as people make out.. You dont have to be rude, Just be helpful and point out ways that the shot could be improved.. then we can learn by our mistakes.. As always, Take care Mark

This is a very great shame as Donny was a regular and very much apprecaited visitor to my gallery.  It seems we might just lose a lot of talented photographers for one reason or another around here, and the loss of Donny will certainly make the DCM galleries a lesser place to be.  I have no idea why he has left, that's his choice of course.  But I do wish him all the best for the future and continued success with his excellent photography.
