Maybe the question should be asked why people are not entering it? Is there any reason other than those people have listed already? That way we could probably address those issues to make it more inviting to new members.

Well I have been intermittant with entering of late, and didn't enter this weeks. I guess factors are:

1. Do I feel that I can do the subject justice? I liked the vertical format, and had loads of ideas, and got 1 vote (that's my style of doing the subject justice by the way). I was thinking of things for broken, and took a few, but they were pants so I didn't subject you to them. The thought of your screams of "my eyes, my eyes" was too much for me. And sods law, I saw the perfect subject today
2. Time. It depends on what's happening on the home front, do I have to work saturday, etc. Due to work I have to have it processed and posted by Sunday bed time so it's not always possible.
3. Overall though I like the competition and the good humoured approach everyone has towards it.

Quite the same reasons that I have not yet entered. I am very aware of how good the entries tend to be and unless I can come up with a good idea that I can portray in photo form, then I have refrained from entering. So far, I haven't thought of anything that I think is original enough apart from on the 'recycled' theme, and then I didn't have time to go out and capture it (law of the sod).

I really like the comp though, vote every week and will continue to monitor it and try and come up with some ideas. I will eventually enter - promise!!

Don't worry about thinking your entry might not come up to standard (whatever that is)... It's always good experience and the reviews and general chat always help to improve your skills regardless.

Just dive in and enjoy it... You've gotta be in it to win it remember!

Personally I really look forward to the competition but don't often get as much time as I'd like to get an entry in.  Lack of time and/or imagination to produce something worthy are always the reasons.  Even if I don't actually take a photo or manage to post it, I still get my thinking cap on and keep tabs on the chat thread - which is always entertaining .

This week's topic has sparked off several ideas so I think I may have a go (all being well and good that I get the time - the other halfs mum is over this weekend!)
