What made me laugh today? Seeing the prospect of "No Canon/Nikon debate threads" being considered for entry into this places ever-growing t&c's. A year from now, this place will be as sugar-loaded as a can of cola.
What makes you so sure this place will exist a year from now? Lighten up, Dave. Canon/Nikon debates are fine as long as they concentrate on something - viewfinder, image quality, lens price, whatever. Just saying "Canon Nikon which is better?" will just encourage argument; especially as there's no right answer.

Ah but us Olympus users need not enter these pointless debates as we are no doubt better. Otherwise we woudn't be pushed into a dark corner for fear of oversadowing the opposition!!! Devil [6]

Want something a bit different..? ... and before anyone asks, it's fullframe! It was fullframe before the majority of the readership in the forums were a glint in the milkmans eye!

No "Live View" no "Scene Modes", No point!

... and how many posts does a thread need to have, when you're determining if there's a slight possiblility of a thread breaching the ever-evolving T&C's? 3?

I seem to recall a phrase being uttered in these forums a while ago... "heavy handedness can kill".

    No "Live View"

It's better than that... it's got "Actual view". Yessir, no pixellating LCD panel to squint at, whilst you try and remember the response/refresh times of that very panel.

And...! And... the viewfinder doesn't blank out when the shutter's fired! Wink [;)]

Well, I had the same trouble on AOL. Bombed out at 19:00 and couldn't get back on until 23:00. Sad [:(]

A curious way for DCM to market and promote the site.

And...as long as it does'nt get nasty or offensive....argument is what stops things being as bland and boring as we seem to be getting at the moment

    Re: What annoyed you today?

A broad minded persons discussion is a narrow minded persons arguement.

I will often take an opposing point of view in a discussion to help others make their point more clearly. If this site really is a forum site them freedom of speech and expression are necessary for it's survival. Not that I condome abuse or profanity - they are not necessary or desired.

This site seems to have lost it's edge - it's bland (as Sue says) compared to a year or two ago - lets try to save it's life - not strangle it with further T&C's, rules etc.....

I dont suppose that the demise of the thread had anything to do with an advertising customers attitude - that would surely not be the real cause - would it?

    Re: What annoyed you today?

....not at work today....decided to clean the front windows and was out in the garden when my neighbour came home from work in her van.....she saw me and did'nt block my drive, there's more than enough room not to......she went in ....I went in........I looked out of my window ten mintes later and she'd been out and reversed it right across my drive........I'm starting to get a twitch......there is no *&"£$! reason for them to do it. They did it to the last owner of my house and it ended up at the solicitors......I just can't get my head around people like that...are they just terminally ignorant? I asked so politely not to do it and she said she would'nt...that lasted about 3 days......what do I do?
