Re: Adding a link to your gallery, to your Contact button

Hi. Maybe I'm being a wiener, but I need to find my a web address to send to others. When I cut and paste the address bar (even when I'm not signed in) the url I get sends people to my administrative page.  Is there a way to either find or assign my own address to send to others?

    thanks much... eric

    Lurkalot:

Here's a way of adding your gallery to the Contact Button, (the one found on all posts) Wink [;)]

    Hope this helps.

PS: You can also add a link to your gallery, to your Signature
    See here. http://community.dcmag.co.uk/forums/thread/216447.aspx

If you found these instructions useful, please bump the thread so new users can see it. (I'll clean the thread up from time to time).  Thank you. Wink [;)]

Ah, that reminds me.  I was going to suggest making your gallery link clickable. Wink [;)]

JA, just copy, and past the code below to replace your link.   (If you want to, of course).

its just the internet/forum standard way to bring a post to the top of the forum, a simple post just saying "bump" Wink [;)]

Re: Adding a link to your gallery, to your Contact button

Has anyone figured out the formatting commands for signatures?  Any reason why they aren't the same as the rest of the post?

My sig has a couple of links in it.  Normal standard is for these to be underlined but the DCM stylesheet doesn't allow this.  So....I want to underline them.  I've tried all the normal tricks such as Broken Heart [U] (which doesn't work and Beer [B] which gives a glass of beer.....

Anyone know how to do this?  I want to highlight them some way or people don't know they can click on them.

ETA: well how odd.  [ u] stands for a broken heart....

Kidography. It's like photography. But more fun.

Ok, I've managed that ,but could someone tell me how to link my Name to my gallery.

I've noticed  on comments left in my own gallery that some peoples names are linked directly to their gallery..Its probably really easy but I can't work it out..

No problem,   Got to your gallery, and copy the address from the address bar.   Then go to a gallery leave a comment, and just above the comment box you'll see an address box (your url optional) Past it in there, Tick the remember me box at bottom, and click submit.

Thanks Lurkalot, have done that now, however, when I logged onto the site again, it wasn't in the url box.

Is it something you have to do everytime you log on???

erm yes, unfortunately I forgot to mention that. Embarrassed [:$]   I have mentioned this to the tech team, but as yet it's not been fixed.   Enter the info only after log on, and you should be able to hop between galleries and not have to enter again until next log in.

That said I never log out but it still disappears between visits to the site.
