    Re: Weekend Competition

Is it possible to create polls on this forum? Another forum I'm a member of has a monthly photo competition and at the end of the month someone in admin makes a poll with all the entries listed on.
It would be easier and cleaner than having the replies in the same thread.

I don't remember seeing an polls though so I guess the answer is no Sad [:(]

    I just posted it....

I hope you all find it suitably challenging, and interesting.

Sorry for the delay, but I was caught up by her indoors putting together cabinets, putting kids to bed, etc.

    Hey Cedar,

Would you like to add a post with the "rules" of the contest to the competition thread and instructions on the voting?

im assuming that the camera thats got to be in the shot, is THE camera ure shooting the photo with, as it just says 'your' camera, and im sure many ppl have multiple cameras that they could shoot.

So long as it's creative and not just a plonking of the camera into the scene, I'm not that bothered. Ideally, though it should the camera (or a reasonable fraction of it) taking the actual photo.

    Re: Weekend Competition

noe i understand, you want us to take a picture, with the actual camera used to capture it in the frame, mmm, need to think about that one for a bit.Smile [:)].

just a small question, if we take a picture, post it, then take another we think is better, is it OK to delete the old post with the shot and post a new one (with a small edit note about this being a new picture)?

    Cheers

    Rob

    Re: Weekend Competition

    Hi Rob,

Good point about the deleting and resubmitting another.

    There are two solutions:
    1. either allow multiple entries from the same person, or
    2. only the last photo entered is the entry, where the photographer EDITS their previous post/submission, replacing the link to the old photo with the link to the new one.
Given the restrictions on this forum for editing/deleting/etc. posts, I think the simplest until we work this out properly is to use option 2, since the voting is going by the submitter, not the name of the photo.

It'd be easiest if we could just delete the posts.
