Depends on the velocity when it passes through the lowest point. It's still under the influence of gravity, and so it'll come to a halt when the energy of motion (0.5 mass *  velocity^2) at the lowest point in the trajectory is the same as the potential energy at the top of the swing ( 9.81 * distance). If the 0.5 mv^2 is greater than 9.81*2*pendulum length, then it'll continue over the top.

What I meant with the lack of resistance was that there was no energy loss due to friction/resistance. (and we all know that resistance is futile...).

Good luck to you...I've no idea. Looks like we're just going to have a load of 'inside of clocks shots'. Well I wanted a tighter subject. Now I wish I had a macro lens. I was thinking sun dial hee hee but someone's bound to mention there's no mechanics.

...interesting...all I know, are simple things now...lol...like, if someone asked me..."how far do you have to drive from your place to your daughter's house?"  he he he  my answer is always not in miles but "time"..."oh it will take me 30 minutes to reach her place" he he he...Hevans mentioned something like this about distance/time, I think
