    Re: Post Edit Best

Here is my two. I took them while I was on the ferry to Circular Quay. I tried to fix the original thru CS2 but couldn't manage it. I then tried different filters in CS2 with the brushes, played with the colours and cropped it.

I'm still learning how to process my photo's. This is all new to me so it's a bit daunting but fun.

    Re: Post Edit Best

This one I did last week.  I'm in work so can't post the original at the moment, but will when I get in if I remember.  Basically the roses were red, but after putting htem in direct sunlight and snapping them they ended up looking pink.  My wife then stated she didn't like the colour, so I played around with just about every image modification setting I could find in Photoshop 7, and settled on them being blue.  Ironically having them blue shows up more of the detail (whihc you'll see if I can remember to post the pre-edit shot).  All that was left then was to blank out the background as it was distracting, and settle on a background colour that didn't clash.

Had a play with that Sabattier effect in the latest mag. Would have been better if I just had the statue on its own without the other gravestones.

Jabbs great shot with the roses, never even realised they were once red!! Big Smile [:D] well impressed!

Here is one from earlier today, hope you like it, i used a second layer and quickmask (q) paintbrushed onto the icicles, inverted the selection so just the icicles were selected and gave them a rainbow graidient, set the layer to overlay, merged, copied pasted and rotated, selected the large bottom icicle and flipped it, added the drops and here you go........enjoy

Filter .. love the colour range thru those icicles, and the grainy affect you have added makes the shot a lot more "arty".  I think this thread is a great idea.  Gives us newbies to Photoshop some ideas.

    Re: Post Edit Best

Great images guys, I often get people saying that its not right (almost illegal...) to edit a picture in any way once its shot. Years ago I used to do a lot of printing B/W by hand and in my time I've printed some stuff for some really great photographers, none of them strangely said, "just print this on grade 2 with no dodging and burning please"....  To me its all part of the final process.

Here is a pick that I did just after crimbo when I forgot to put the fairy lights in the loft and couldn't be bothered to get the ladders back out. The shot is in two parts joined together in the middle after lighting the whole thing with a mixture of the fairy lights themselves and a torch with a plastic bag over the end (not for birth control of course...lol) but to soften the light. I've then burned out all the 'white' connecting wires on the lights, top tip here see if Woolies sell black wire lights next year! and then blended the shots together. Also cloned a few lights and added some extra a little higher off the floor. As Bernard Mathews would say, 'Beutiful' , cluck cluck, cough cough!

    Awesome works Jabbs and filter.

This is another of the photos that I took yesterday and experimented with the clone stamp in CS2 for the first time. Got rid of some of the rubbish, a container, the car and graffiti.

    Cheers

Great shots guys, CS2 is a great tool although like many people its a case of messing about for ages trying things as been the best way to learn I think, and more fun anyway.

Here's one a did yesterday after trying to do some 'advertising' type photography...

nice work Tim.  I notice you even included the shadows on the right foot.  Maybe needed a bit of a shadow by the left foots big toe, but thats just me looking for things.  Great work.

Joni, great transformation, like an old master.

Can I put this one forward, its part of a group I've just posted. The shot was inside a showroom that was 'reflection' hell and there was not alot of room. Can't begin to say what I have done to this, easy to say what I haven't done...Mmmm, I didn't sharpen it at all! thats it.

Let me know what you think and if I got away with it or not.

Cheers and great work here being posted by everybody, keep it up
