They work really well Gill. I really have to get myself some plain black and plain white material for backgrounds.

I hope it's OK to stick some portraits from my gallery here, they're not particularly new but...

Here's an attempt at a Dragan Effect

    a standard B&W

    Natural evening light

    Sepia

And some messing about - two photos taken seperately, background removed and merged in PS

Comments, as always, welcome - above images link to my gallery! Big Smile [:D]

    A bit of an experiment.

Optically this lens is awfull, but it feels so nice :D

How come lens construction is so cheap these days?

A couple of my grandaughter I took not so long ago.

This is one of my earlier shots from my gallery when I first joined dcm. I don't think it's that bad for a beginner but some people thought it bad enough to leave a couple of insults! I hope I've improved since joining this site, Ive had some very helpful advice from members although I don't post as much now as I used to, I still look in to hopefully learn more. Looking at peoples excellent galleries gives me ideas and helps a lot. So thanks to anyone who has given me their help in the past.

Re: Portrait thread - post yours here ...

So many good shots on here,

David Bracher, you have to love this one! I still can’t work out how you did it. Some kind of HDR? Whatever, I expect to see a whole series of these, could become a bit of a trademark.

Top totty, I like both of these, they are very relaxed and natural. The second is very interesting as I can’t work out if he was posing or silently saying go away!.

I include the following as an attempt at High Key that I like. I will improve on it soon as I now better understand how to take the shot rather than do it all post shoot.

    Sian

The next is one of my best. My daughter has it as a poster in her room and loves it (and me for taking it)..

She also hates the next one.

she was actually on a swing on a very bright day in the snow. Photoshop rocks.....

I do have a version that is the same layout but without feet. What do you think?
