Top marks for the man from Graeme-Land - that's the most sensible suggestion I've heard, as it gives everybody a chance on the day, yet enables photos that weren't quite the best on the day to still get a chance of being aired.

    Re: POTD

We all keep banging on about POTD.. Its not rocket science, You go to "READERS PORTFOLIO'S" then sort by "RECENTLY CHANGED"  then hit  "GO" and check what has been posted in the last 24hrs.. I do that every morning, and if something catches my eye, I either post a comment or add to my favourites or even both... I certainly dont need DCmag to keep ramming them down my throat.. DCmag have read all the comments about POTD but they could'nt care less.. they continue to pick photo's that where posted days, weeks or even months ago.. No matter how good they are, if they are not posted in the previous 24hrs they are not POTD..

I hope that clears things up for everybody..Wink [;)]

    Take care as always Mark

    Re: POTD etc

I think as well as potd there should be an arbitrary pick from random galleries alongside it,showing another, say, three or four images that meet the quality criteria of the site, this would offset the alleged elitism that invariably these type of communities create.Smile [:)]

It's good to see that "The Team" are delving in to the exhaustive collection of galleries on this site to find unknown treasures from little publicised photographers for POTD isn't it?

Full credit to them for finding something different each day and not revisiting the same place.

    Re: POTD etc

    To the Team

Am I missing something here!! The resent POTD images are all from extremely talented members of the community which I have no problem with. Many of them now being community friends which I aspire too, regularly commenting and viewing their galleries and them mine. I have no reason not to see their outstanding work reaching the front page. But in all fairness there are many galleries regularly posting images which in my own view  also deserve a front page slot. A while ago it was ONE image galleries reaching the home page which many thought didn't deserve POTD or MPOTD. Like every other hobby or alike we are all at diffirent levels of skill and sometimes a pat on the back so to speek is rewarding. Not everyone has photoshop or an expensive DSLR and bags full of high optic lenses. Mind you some do and still don't reach the front page,LOL. Obviously team it's impossible to keep everyone happy as we all see whatever photos you choose diffirently. Hopefully one day a happy balance will become achievable. I still enjoy looking to see if I agree with the choosen four images every day though and comment when I have the time. Keep up the good work team, just try to include the happy medium if you can. I know it's not easy though.

    Re: POTD

The POTD is a bit late.. and no, I'm not that bored, just curious.

A fiver says the current flavour of landscapes will be the theme today  (Hopefully, as I uploaded one earlier... ooh shameless!) Embarrassed [:$]

Yes, sorry about that - unforseen circumstances made it impossible for us to update today.

We'll be selecting a POTD tomorrow Smile [:)]

    Re: POTD

Unlike some others on the site, I have no problem with photos from 2006 gracing the front page, as there can often be that hidden gem that has only just been unearthed.

However, ones from 2006 where the latest post to the site from the respective photographers involved was also in 2006 is taking it a little beyond the realms imho.

Surely if the person has not posted for over 18 months, then they have more than likely given up looking at the site, or possibly moved to one of the other sites on the web.

It will be interesting to see if the two photographers in this category chosen yesterday will make any response to comments given since being chosen for the front page.
