No just played around with the levels in CS2 then unmask sharpen. Thanks for your comment this one is my fravourite, in fact I like this one more than the one I submitted for the comp.

Only two drops? Odd numbers tend to balance photos out, fwiw. I'm impressed with the refraction on the edge of the lower drop, btw.

Hell, it's a competition for goodness sake, what did you expect - another essay on Escape or something. Perhaps we should have another thread "POTY Rejected Shots", not sure there would be enough room for them all though. lol

I saw that you'd been practising the "motion" theme, I really liked the Speedometer and Speed of Neonlights. in your gallery. You should try to duplicate it for this competition....fits well and looks very good.

I got a few like that in the skatepark, was trying to get the opposite to the normal follow the subject and blur the background by staying still and trying to time taking the shot, in quite a few attempts my subconsious reaction was to follow the subject as it came into the frame giving exactly the same result as yours, although yours is suffering from not enough light to stop shake creeping into the panning movement, I think anyway. 

Was a great subject, very technical, I learnt a lot trying to get a strong enough image of the cyclist whilst still ballancing the exposure and avoiding shake, should have brought my tripod I guess. Got me thinking about how I would use nd grad filters if I had any

Took the kids to blackpool to see the lights last night, thought I may get some good photos, not a chance. ripod never left the boot...dad can we go on this, dad can we go on that...the joy of parenthood
