    Graeme see here http://www.edinburghcavalcade.com

I've sent a message to ADMIN to see if they are interested in this day out.

I've also sent a message to the organiser of the Cavalcade to see if we can get inside the crush barrier for better shots but have not had a reply, possibly security\safety  issues will prevent this.

    Re: Scottish meet-up Anyone interested?

Sunday the 3rd August sounds good to me.

I reckon that it'll take me about 3 hours to drive down from the Highlands to Edinburgh so could someone confirm what time we will be meeting?

On that note, has a meeting point been thought of yet?  Can I suggest at the side of the Ross Band Stand in Princess Street Gardens?  That way it's easy enough for folks to get a bus down to Princess Street from wherever they are coming from?

It's been a while since I lived in Edinburgh (about 10 years now) so can anyobne recommend the best place for me to park my car where it'll be either free or inexpensive for the day?

I am looking forward to meeting everyone Smile [:)]

    Cheers
    Ian

One free parking option that I use is at Ocean Terminal in Leith, then its a bus ride into town - they run about every ten minutes.Smile [:)]

I've persuaded the other tog in our house - my wife Monica - to come along. She was a bit dubious at first, she didn't want to be overwhelmed by a load of camera buffs. I told her that there was going to be no one in the buff.Embarrassed [:$]Big Smile [:D]

I've also asked a mate of mine to come along as well. Haven't heard back from him yet though.

    Re: Scottish meet-up Anyone interested?

Well it looks like no one from the Mag is looking for any of our pics as I have not had any reply to 2 messages sent to rach, nor have I had any response from the Cavalcade organisers regarding access to the parade side of the crush barrier, but not being a shy person I will telephone him and see if I can charm any favours for us, I may have had more punch if I could have said that images will be published in the DCM but hey ho! , maybe the other events didn't produce what they wanted.

As well as the parade there are loads of other points of interest that we can look at prior to the parade, so closer to the time maybe we can arrange a meeting point for A.M, coffee and later for pre parade lunch or something. Its great that at least one photographer ( Martin ) is keen to come north and join us, fingers crossed there will be more closer to the time, its a great event to bring the family to, you can get a train right into Waverley Train Station, no worries about parking for you guys.

I'm looking forward to meeting you guys and sharing your secrets Smile [:)]

    Re: Scottish meet-up Anyone interested?

Sad that the magazine hasn't shown an interest.  Also sorry to say that I won't be able to make the meet-up as I'm working (fly out tomight).  I will be in Aberdeen on the 1st (weather permitting!) but won't have my camera kit with me and will be looking forward to getting home to see the missus.

I think that the numbers are building anyway, so perhaps I'll arrange a meet for the NE of England in the future.

Have a great time, looking forward to reading all about it on here Smile [:)]

That's a shame Martin but work comes before play ( sometimes) I was looking forward to meeting you, a NE England meet sounds good for a future event though Big Smile [:D]

PS Deetus, please tell your wife not to worry about a bunch of photographers getting all techy about camera chat, I suspect we'l be too busy taking pictures ( I hope )
