    MPelley.

Oh yes, much prefer your second processing of the field and tree.

The pink sky - and over-saturation of greens - looked a little false on the first.

Like the lead-in lines of the tracks and the burning of the second.

Sky might be a bit better if darker maybe?

    Cheers,
    Neil

Hi Kate, nice shot of  Lincoln I'm guessing, the wide angle lens gives a good feeling to how steep the hill is, shame about the people they distracts for me.  But still a nice shot.

    Re: Photo of the Day

    One taken tonight.

Was hoping that the setting sun would light the clouds, but sadly it was not to be.  Bournemouth Pier really is an ugly piece of concrete, but we have to work with what is available I guess Wink [;)]

Your comments and thoughts are, as always, gratefully appreciated.

    Hi Kate.

    Like the "old" street shot.

Wonder what it'd look like in B&W and if the "modern" walkers were omitted?

    White clouds a bit over-exposed?

    Pleaseing shot.

    Cheers,
    Neil

    Re: Photo of the Day

Thanks Beefy and Neil for your comments. I think I will go back and try and get one without any people, might have to go really early in the morning or something. Will try and get the clouds/sky right as well.

    Thanks again!

Update: Went back today - big white van and a BMW parked in front of the houses! Maybe tomorrow...

    Re: Photo of the Day

Oldboy, the second really shows the link from birds to dinosaurs., good work.

great moody shot of the pier Mark...I know what you mean about the sun lighting the underbelly of the clouds...i've been down the local beach every day for a week waiting...still no joy.

veggie...i got a decent reflector telescope for Xmas....has a little attachment to attach a compact camera to it...can I find the bloody thing...no, been dying to try it out...I must go look again.

moonlustie...that looks like a really photogenic building, loads of brick and texture interest.

kate, nice scene...each to their own but I actually like the people in the shot, just as it adds extra perpective and interest.

    erm...some pans from yesterday.

    Squeeeeee!

With very grateful thanks to blandfordp and his link to the beginners website - I am slowly getting my head round the manual settings on my camera Big Smile [:D],  This is taken without flash (although on my gallery info it says it is Angry [:@]) at 9.30pm and indoors!

I know there is still some camera shake in there but I don't have a tripod, used my monopod but couldn't totally eliminate it.

Very pleased with the results thus far - thanks to everyone else who chipped in with advice ... it all helped!
