Really good sharp image of the hover fly.

Obviously its 2 images but I wanted to give it a surreal feel by replacing the animals normal water hole with the river Thames.

Fly Snow Reports - Great image!! Here's my best taken in my garden today. Anyone know what the red 'blob' is? There wasn't a 'blob' on the other side of the fly!!

    Ladycompact.

    Nice sharp macro.

I'm wondering if red spot is some sort of mite? Can't "zoom" into your example to see any closer for legs etc.

Google "red spider mite" and see what info you get.

    Cheers,
    Neil

It's his packed lunch!!!! Big Smile [:D]

Cracking shot, and as N Hatton has suggested could be red spider mite but looks a bit too big? Surprise [:O]

Valentinecook - Unusual shot, but not sure if focus is on correct subject, as I think it should be the water rather than the tap, or else use something like F22 to give greater DOF. Big Smile [:D]

Thanks for the advice oldboy, got the day of tomorrow, so i might give that a try.

    Flash away.

I followed a rainbow all the way down the motorway today until I got to a scenic spot. By which time it had disappeared!

Craftysnapper, lovely shot the colours are great and I love the pose.

afidler, beautiful flower, what is it?

    OldBoy, love the rainy shots!!!

blandfordp, that's a lovely scene, great sky.

This is all I got today, btw thanx for the replies about the fly with the red 'blob', I had a look at my original shot, can't see no legs, but as most people who have seen the shot seem to think it's a mite of some sort, then that's what it will be!! Anyhow, here's my shot from today.

    Hi Adam,

I bumped into Harry within 10 mins of arriving quite by chance. Brilliant day, bit dryer than last year. Still sorting through, but liked this one
