I've just voted. And this serves as a little bump too, should it be needed.

    Hello everyone,

Well, we managed to "break the bank" this weekend, with more entries than are allowed on our old trusty web poll service. We had 22 entries, but one (sorry brunocoelho19) was taken before the starting date and disqualified (very nice photo, though), and to expedite matters, I have also withdrawn. This takes us back down to the maximum of 20 items in the poll.

I think we can all agree that we've had some absolutely fantastic entries and I am completely unsure about who to vote for.

    Time to get voting, visit:
    http://snappoll.com/poll/137425.php

and cast your vote for the shot that best depicts this weeks topic: WATER.

The results can be seen here

PS. Lurkalot, Daludes has posted several entries, to avoid confusion, could you delete all of them except for the one she's indicated? Thanks, H.

Cheers, it's one thing to know the settings a camera was set too,but knowing the equipment used gives the fuller picture of how to get great shots....I need to start saving for a dedicated macro lens in the mean time i will have to settle for the reversinf ring taped to an old lens.

I looked at 12 last night and Lurkalot won it. Thank god for that, I have no rules for a tie! :)

Anyway. Congrats to Lurkalot and thanks to all that submitted this week.

Hi Cedar, "Bump" just brings the message to the top of the pile again - bumps it up, as it were. Also think Hevans was trying the forum voting system out.

    cheers

Re: Weekend Competition: The Best Photographer in the World 7th - 8th Oct, 2006

Thanks everyone, that was bloomin close I thought I'd got away with it.Big Smile [:D]   Still racking my brain cell for an idea for the next comp. Embarrassed [:$]

Well done to all who entered, there were some good shots.   I especially liked Aussie Shaun's web pic, and that one got my vote.

DaLuds, you nearly done it, and given any more voting time you would have won this.  Well done for second place.

David, well done on the third place.

Here's how my shot was done

Well this shot was done in a real hurry, and not a lot of thought went into it, I was late for work Embarrassed [:$]

    Setup as follows

1: Canon 30D with Tamron SP 90mm macro lens
2: Glass of water standing on (empty) beer can in kitchen sink.  Frying pan behind to provide background lol... Embarrassed [:$]
3: Turned on tap to a slow trickle, and fired a few shots hand held.   Onboard flash was used, and manual focus.

Shot from about 5" and cropped the shot.  Lens stayed dry. Wink [;)]
