Yes, congratulations on another fine picture from oRGie. Must say it was the one that really jumped off the page to me. I also think that on the whole the quality of photos was excellent. Thanks to you hevans for your work on the poll etc. and for your comments.
Looking forward to this weeks challenge.

    cheers

    Anthony

rekitrallying: Wish I'd thought of taking the daughter off for a slide. Really nice shot, captures the motion well. I much prefer it to the others you posted in the reject thread.

Thanks for that, as you say some good shots I voted for the Kayak but am not surprised at the winner. I'm just happy that I got any votes.

I wanted to try and get something different, though I did think about doing the motorway light trails. My original idea was to get her on the swing but lack of background meant there was little sense of motion, so I just had to force her on to the slide Smile [:)]

    Cheers

Thanks to all that voted for me, truly is an honour when there are so many good photographers and artistically minded peeps on this forum.  I honestly expected Nomadr (canoe) to win this one, so big congrats on that pic. Big Smile [:D]

Re: Weekend Competition: The Best Photographer in the world (14th-15th Oct 06)

Thanks for the comments guys and gals. Some excellent shots submitted this week; a difficult and demanding subject but learnt a lot.  I voted for nomadir an excellent shot.

Mine was of a battery powered handheld fan with lights on, bought for my niece while at Blackpool illuminations the week before. I used my Sigma 105 macro lens with ND 9 filter to get a long exposure black card behind and below tripod that’s it.  I was quite happy with the result

    Thanks again for your comments

    Hi BD.

well, I don't think there'd be a genuine problem unless you won and set the subject of B+W antique photo gadgets, or Sue Allen set the subject of water fowl. Wink [;)]

That won't happen on my behalf though, as I'll not be entering the competitions. Not because of lethargy or whatever, but because I'd be lumbered with having to choose the subject if I won.

    ... and I know that's definitely not a good idea. Smile [:)]

Ahhh, the presumption that you'd win....

True, we'd have to wait for the report from your shrink before we could trust you with such responsability Smile [:)]
