That's a shame Martin but work comes before play ( sometimes) I was looking forward to meeting you, a NE England meet sounds good for a future event though Big Smile [:D]

    Re: Scottish meet-up Anyone interested?

I called the organiser since the e-mail was not replied to. I spoke to David and he said that there are a limited number of vests allowed by the police, at this time they are not all taken and I should call back on an arranged date to see if we can have any that are remaining. First choice will be the proffesional papers, but he will help if he can, but don't hold your breath. A better answer than a flat no Smile [:)] .

If I could have told him the magazine was behind us and that the best shots would be published it may have helped, never mind chaps and chapesses, we'll have a good day anyway I'm sure.

Much Kudos for trying Bob, and even if we managed to get a couple, I'm sure we could swap over to give everyone a shot.
I'm surprised there's been no reply from the magazine considering it was them that posted a big thread telling us to get together and tell them about our meets.  If we did have that magazine backing, I'm sure it would be a lot easier to secure some spots and convince people to help us.

Seems to have gone the same way with the 'Legal' thread that started off with a burst but now hasn't been acknowledged by the team for quite a while. Come to think of it JD is also a bit quiet of late - I wonder if they've all abandoned ship.

PS Deetus, please tell your wife not to worry about a bunch of photographers getting all techy about camera chat, I suspect we'l be too busy taking pictures ( I hope )

    Bob

Aww, thanks guys Smile [:)]  I'll keep my eye on the thread and if anything changes I'll be right on up.  How many definiates are there at the moment though?  Again, if there is 10 or more I'd probably leave it and arrange a meet this end.  I think it could get too large otherwise?

Thanks taxija, appreciate the update - Diary free so far that day so count me in! Please keep me posted of the times etc as I may well make a 'proper' day of it and get the train!

Martin, NE day sounds like a great plan as well - maybe plan for one day in Sept?

    Re: Scottish meet-up Anyone interested?

About 11 at the last count.

Graeme Mather, bsmith, taxija, cairtoul, Graham Comrie, Vxisme & Mrs Vxisme, deetus, HairyHighlander, jockie2303, fizzio, and a few possibles like wattig and friends of others.

Can I suggest we meet at the Tourist information Office\cafe just up from the railway station so its easy for those arriving by train, we can be in out of the weather if its bad, make plans and split up from there after the goup shot on the grass just out side the cafe as the backdrop will be the castle or Scott monument Smile [:)].

Other suggestions welcome, please quote this thread and add your name if attending so we have a good head count.

    Smile [:)] Bob

That's a shame Donny Sad [:(], we certainly will post the pics and make you feel really cheated Big Smile [:D] I'm retired now so thankfully my diary is only filled with family requests, but that day is Mine Stick out tongue [:P]

Update: a lovely reply from Rach at the Mag, they want to do an entry in the Mag, she wants the best shot from everyone on the day and a group shot, with full names of all in the shot, I'm sure we can manage that. Some shots of us in action taking pictures, I've also been promised some T-shirts so don’t be late, you snooze you loose. Rach is also going to call the organiser and pester them for a few official photographer vests to get behind the barrier, though as I said before they will go to the daily paper photographers etc and we may get any that are left over, but the  police limit the number available, so we may not get any.
