The lens is on order with Martins Camera shop I've been waiting 3 weeks and they have taken the cash, the are supposed to call tomorrow with an update, if its not good I will cancel the order I think and stick with the 60mm I cant understand why Nikon kit is so hard to get,

Thanks Moon, macrojunkies are the very very good ones, I'm learning loads from and being inspired by his skill and perseverance.

Steve its a good shot, but it looks a little bit over sharpened to me, you know it has a kind of sparkly effect, it may just be my screen, well done, nice shot, Big Smile [:D].

Although I've had my Canon 100mm f/2.8 Macro for several months now I've never actually had a play with it. On Saturday however, the wife and I got out our tripods and went flower hunting - she for the love of flowers, me, to see just how good or not this new lens was. Here are just three of hundreds Big Smile [:D] These are straight out of the camera (Canon 40D) converted from RAW files to JPG in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom and outputted at a reduced size for better forum monitor fit.

I have the feeling that this lens is going to get a lot more use. Wink [;)]

Re: Macro Pics - Post your best...

I was hoping to get a shot of a dragonfly as I've seen some great pictures that people have taken of them, but alas I havn't seen one to shoot yet!

What lens would you suggest then MacroJunkie? I know you use an MPE-65 which is (I believe) dedicated to macro and magnification. But other than an MPE-65, any recomendations?

bsmith: I know what you mean about the over-sharpened look I think I might have sharpened it twice rather than just the once as planned. If I get chance today I'll have another go at editing it to see if I can get it better. I'm still quite a novice on Photoshop.

    Cheers

    Steve
