    froj,

yep, incense sticks. went to Poundstretcher and got a box of 100 (I think) with a little wooden holder for the princely sum of £1.

    Froj,

it's amazing how much your chilli shot is improved by turning the hand to B & W. Good call!

BTW I'm a big chilli fan; I eat a bowl every day at work made with chillis from my own plants.

Chilli plants! I never thought of growing my own. I'm getting quite addicted the past few months, these are from the market, you get a pack of 50 red & 50 green thai chillies for a quid! better than asda.
Thanks for the pic comment too (just to get back on topic :) )

One of my not so recent ones.

    The edited version:

    and the original:

The editing consisted of a big crop, B+W conversion and then a removal of the reflective strip on the arm, which only seemed to detract from the olde worlde atmosphere.

    Re: Post Edit Best

Here is one of my recently edited images, using a painting technique from another magazine!!!

you first open the image, then create a new canvas

    paint it white

    reduce opacity to 85%

then using the oil paint history brush and long straight stokes paint in main details,

change to short curly for sky and sea

create background copy layer and turn off other layers

    use filter stylize-find edges

    drop  saturation to -100

over lay and use blending mode, i had to reduce this to about 80% as well.

then added signature and title using text tool. the flattened image.

    hope you like the effect.

    original image.

Shaun, that's the most effective conversion to an oil painting/watercolour effect I've ever seen! Very very well done!

    Nice conversion and crop hevans.

With this one I just took all the background clutter out (lorries and vans) and convetred it to B&W.
