How do i get rid of the light streaks, is it an exposure thing or do i need a filter? It was only on a Fuji E550 point and shoot, but it will help when i start to use my new camera, cheer's.

It look to me like grease on the lens. Try cleaning with a lens solution as this should clear the problem.

GhostlyFour, this is quite a nice idea.. technically very good, well focussed and the exposure looks pritty much bang on. The colour is nice, the goldy yellow in the wine is a really nice tone. The only thing that is a bit distracting are the blurred highlights in the background, would be nice to see a similar shot up against a plain background maybe? i dunoo though i dont know alot, this is just my opinion

It looks like an awkward subject - the tree coming out of the top just looks truncated and will lead to an awkward crop no matter what you try to do. It's the tangled roots that make the subject, perhaps just cropping to only include the roots as a texture based image? Or take a chainsaw next time?

Including the tree, though, I don't know what you can do about it, as it will probably look awkward no matter how you try to compose the shot.

I think I commented on this one in your gallery - superb shot, the only change might be to get a few more pixels on the right side to keep the bolt from going out of the frame. Or maybe if you were over further to the left to get the pilings to rake more across the photo and end up not in the centre of the frame? Probably only a step or two to the left would do it.

Here is my shot of these bar glasses already lined up on the bar at a wedding shoot that I was working.  I just couldn't resist the fact that maybe someone was playing musical glasses and I just had to take a shot!

I really like this shot.  If I could make one suggestion it would have been to have the levels of wine in the glasses desceding from left to right in equal amounts.

I know that you said that you found them lined up, but it might be an idea for the future?

Filter your picture has a great moody feel to it. I just feel that if you would have follow the golden grid rule (or what ever its called) and place the statue with in where the line meets it would balance the picture out. Still a very good picture...

I love your shot.  The colorful, beautiful sky with the grain standing out against the sky makes for one awesome composition.  It is very nicely cropped.  I really don't see what else you could have done with it except to give it a nice frame in a contrasting color.

Comments on the below please, good or bad.

Like the picture (though it is a little overexposed).  Would have been interesting to try this 5 paces to the right to see whether the overhanging branch adds a different perspective.

I also find the sky really washed out.  I would also have balanced the shot better depending on what is on the right or left.  The stream I find has really nice rich colors along with the golden of the tree.  This shot definitely has potential to it.  Keep at it - you really do have an eye for this.

ron you have over exposed a hell of alot if u have cs3 you can correct this u must have been on a bridge why not get down to the waterfall and get up close to it where is the waterfall? take a look at my pics i have some waterfalls but alot of mine are well flooded

Hi tuffytuffs, I have to agree with you on this one diagonal is not quite my taste, having said that it may be interesting to keep the shape but level the horizon?

 

Inspired buy the dark mood of the previous post, and after finding some interesting highlight images online I spent 15mins on the following ?

 

Good? Bad or Ugly I am not sure!

Cwainwright, This effect isn't usually for me personally but is actually quite effective with this shot!!
I always think it gives a 'pencil crayon' effect which leads to a bit of a cartoon type appearance. On your shot it has accentuated the detail and texture in the singers face and expression and with the boost in saturation has emphasised the energy here.
Overall I think I like it, it could easily be a piece of album artwork. Well done.
