Re: ANIMAL PHOTOGRAPHY - Post yours here

browndog, I love the contrast the water splash and the clouds I don't think I've seen a shot as intersting for quite a while. How was the camera set up, did you use flash with a poleriser ? I'd be interested to know.

    Rgds Bob.

PS, did you have to get your feet wet Smile [:)]

Re: ANIMAL PHOTOGRAPHY - Post yours here

    Thanks Bob

Shot around midday with a Sig 10-20 ND grad to bring the sky and yes a flash. I exposed for a darker sky/ background and used the flash (1/8 power I think)  to bring out the goose. It’s a bit of trail and error to the exposure right. In photoshop I did my normal levels, duplicated the layer and chose multiply at about 40% . I then added a layer mask and removed the foreground with a soft brush.

Did i get my feet wet ........not just wet .....but a bit of a peck on my arm

    Hope this helps

    David

Re: ANIMAL PHOTOGRAPHY - Post yours here

Thanks David, it does help to know how an image was created, looks like the days of point and shoot are gone Smile [:)], I think I must invest in some Lee filters, the ND Grad is a super effect and you just can't get the same using software.
