    ManFromOz:

wmmfgt?.....well yesterday actually......NOT smashing up my 40D in a fall while shooting wildlife at a local wetlands.  I had the camera with 70-300 mounted on my tripod and had been taking some shots from the top of the hill overlooking the wetlands.  I left everything attached and walked down the hill, stopping to take some more shots on the way.  I was about half way down when I slipped on some damp clover and went A over T, ending up sprawled on the ground with one arm holding the tripod aloft 'Excalibur' style by one leg.  I rolled my ankle pretty badly, and made a spectacle of myself, but my gear emerged unscathed! Big Smile [:D]

Looks like I got a few pretty good shots too, but haven't had a chance to check & edit as yet Sad [:(]  Will post some in my gallery in the next few days.

Is that Aperture over Time (ISO)? Wink [;)]

Done the same myself when trying to photograph a marsh daisy. Do feel a plonker. Embarrassed [:$]

Hope the leg gets better quickly. Big Smile [:D]

    WMMFGT?

After 18 months of hard graft we finally got the house finished and on the market today.  Most of the effort and credit for it has to go to my better half as she is more of a DIY guru than me (to me a Black and Decker Workmate should be something that is able to stop the bleeding and phone for the ambulance Smile [:)] )

We have seen a house that we want to move to, have got a mortgage organised so now just need to sell this house.  I know that perhaps in the current climate that it's not the best of times to be selling, but the Highlands seems to be bucking the trend and house prices are still rising slightly.

We are hoping for a fast sale but failing that at least we now have a nice freshly decorated house to live in Big Smile [:D]

    Cheers

Best of luck with the sale.

My neighbour used to put car seat covers on his new car and cheap mats over the fitted mats as soon as he bought it.  He'd leave them on until he sold the car.  The person who bought it got a mint interior but he never saw the "sporst upholstry" that he had paid extra for Confused [*-)]

Sorry, it just makes me chuckle because I know several people who have recently spent months doing the house up, having a conservatory built, new kitchen and drive, etc, etc, then put a for sale board up Smile [:)]

Are you staying in the highlands?

Re: What made you feel good today?

All we have done is freshen it up, masonry paint on the outside etc.  We've been told that by doing this work we have made the house more attractive, which I have to say is definitely the case.  I have just seen the house online on our estate agent's website and am impressed with what he has done for us.

Yes we are staying in the Highlands, this is my final resting place.  I have been a city boy before (was at uni in Glasgow and my first job was in Edinburgh) but am really a country lad a heart.  My other half is most definitely a Highland convert (she's from Nottingham and prior to moving up here had never lived anywhere other than Nottingham) and we fancy a house in the middle of no-where.

We have seen the perfect house in the middle of no-where complete with its own half acre garden and forest.  It would make me feel extremely good if we bought that Big Smile [:D]

Re: What made you feel good today?

Yay.... happy Friday to me, Happy Friday to me, Happy Friday to Graeme, Happy Friday to Me.

I just bought a D300 and picked it up 20mins ago!  Now if only the boss will scoot off early so that I can do the same and go play!

Also got a paid job tonight photographing a band live.  They had bought a couple of photos off me before (one of my very few sales of pictures)  and were so happy that they want me to go and take more.

Think I'll be taking both camera's tonight just to make sure I don't have any problems with the new kit.

Sounds great, we have been considering France for our rural retreat.  We initially said Wales but are fed-up with the UK now, not just England.

    Anyway WMMFGTD?

The postie has been and it's like Christmas, lots of new bits to open and play with!  Oh, and we are going out for a weekends walking (haven't decided where yet) so I get to try it all out and hopefully get some decent pics as well Smile [:)]

    Have a good weekend all!
