I just covered a piece large flat sheet of cardboard in gaffer tape and tin foil, rolled it up and put it into my camera bag. I call it a reflector/flag!

    No its not?

Translucent ones work like soft boxes dont they? You shoot through them? Or am i getting this completely wrong..

Well - it's throwing most of the light backwards.....so what would happen if you turned it round....? Remember that the fabric of the umbrella doesn't really make the light "softer" - that's just a fib. It's all to do with the apparent size of the light source. The trick is that in shoot through mode you can get the "source" (i.e. surface of the brolly) closer so it will have a larger apparent size.

But that's too much like photography for this thread. WMMFGT? Play.com. I was watching House and Baba O'Riley came on. Stuck in my head and I thought I could do worse than add it to my iPod. Hmm...79p on iTunes - what's the album like? Oooo very nice and a bargain at £7.99. Then I checked Play.com. Who's Next (the remastered version) to my door for less than 3 quid. Bargain Big Smile [:D]
Kidography. It's like photography. But more fun.

Well done kate, never finished Uni as mine was rubbish and the course had just started that year so they had no idea what they were doing, shame really! hey ho

    WMMFGT?

I have an exhibition of some of my work at the Mid pennine Arts gallery in Burnley, it's only in thier C gallery which effectivly is the corridor lol but its a start, i have had to choose 20 shots and try and get a theme running through them, now i have to get them printed up to A3 before the 24th of this month so they can frame them and the exhibit runs alongside the Main exhibition which opens on the 18t Aug Big Smile [:D]

It doesn't matter which part of the gallery, and if it's the corridor, then many more people will see them. It will be the RA next then? Well done. Big Smile [:D]

Congrats, Andy! As OldBoy said, more will walk past and view your shots than those in the galleries.

Re: What made you feel good today?

WMMFGT? I'll give you a name - Paul Potts

Over on German television at the moment there is one advertisement that is taking centre stage. It is being run by Telekom.de and is about lifestyle, and features a video clip of the opera title 'Nessun Dorma' being sung by a male artist. There is absolutely no indication of who, why, what and where this title is being performed. So this morning, my curiosity finally getting the better of me, I scoured the German TV channels to find out more. To my surprise I discover that the artist in question is a one Paul Potts, hails out of Port Talbot and is the winner of a UK television programme called 'Britain's Got Talent'. More searching reveals that Paul has subsequently sold over 2 million copies of a CD that was produced after his winning of the contest and that his album has been in the No1 slot in 15 countries. Additionally he  performed at the Royal Variety Performance. The icing on the cake was finding a video on YouTube and listening once again to the marvelous voice of this shy, humble but extremely talented man. Paul Potts - you have just made my day.
