I'll tell you what annoyed me today, I was down in Edinburgh and the weather was good for taking photos so I decided to concentrate on the castle. My camera decided that no matter what settings I decided to use it would use a shutter speed of 1/4sec. Shutter priority, aperture, manual, programe all the same,What's that all about? Couldn't work it out. I took the camera to a shop to ask them to look at it incase I was missing something, but no. The only way to sort it was to use the reset button on the bottom of the body, anyone had this problem before, with a Nikon D80?
Question -
Were you using flash?
Cause you flash sync speed could be set to 1/4th of a second...
No I wan't using flash, but I did check it wasn't having an effect (it's currently set to 1/60). The strange this was that regardless of what the camera settings were it would fire at this speed, the camera was metering correctly and telling met it was going to release the shutter at, say, 1/1000, but it then fired at about 1/4. Then reviewing the picture the EXIF info told me the shutter speed had been what it was supposed to be according to the camera's metering but I could hear that it wasn't 1/1000 it was about 1/4. Very strange
