    Re: What annoyed you today?

What annoys me around here - is that 1. they have put in a RED route - over the existing double yellows. Now call me a cynic - but I didn't think you could park on double yellows? So what difference do double reds do? And then cos some complained that they couldn't deliver stuff - they have gaps in the reds to allow people to park! MADDNESS.

And the other one - they build out the pavement - so that there becomes a zone on either side of the road for parking. Fine. But they slope out - so you loose one or two spaces in 5. I even parked half on the new extended pavement yesterday - to give the poor sod who's drive I was near half a chance to get out! The actual space I was in might have fitted a Smart car - but not a lot else. STUPIDITY!

You can stop on double yellows but not park. So I can pull in to the curb and wait for somebody as long as I'm still there to move the car. This is often extended to leaving the car for a few minutes. I think you can also "load" on double yellows.

Text from a friend telling me she's going blind. Anybody want to buy her D2X?

Thats terrible news Jonathan, now losing my dog for about an hour in the park this morning pales into insignificance.

    Best wishes to your friend.

    Sorry to hear that.

Still, Monet was going blind when he painted the Nymphettes. Although that was from cateracts, which are now treatable. So, don't let her sell up just yet!

Its the one thing that worries my mother - she has just had her Cataracts done (succesfully). Her Mum is pretty much blind in the one eye and the other is not so clever - and my Great Gran was blind for all the time I remember her.

Something that does appear to run in my family. Which I'm not looking forward to - assuming I make it that far!

Regular trips to the opticians is all you can really do mate.
Then if something, God forbid, does start to happen, it can be looked into and treated early on.

I need to make an appointment soon. I'm findin' it hard to focus my eyes, even more so when using the camera.

And nothings really annoyed me today...
Well, apart from the redicularse prices asked for camera equipment.
But that pizziz me off most days.

Virus/trojan/worm writers! I've just spent two bloody days trying to remove some malware from DMT's PC, thanks to filesharing applications. The damn thing even spread to a new user account I'd created to get around the thing in the first place.

Last night, things were looking good... hence a few posts in here from myself. Then, suddenly, the malware thing returned... the desktop began to vanish again, etc. Another 4 hours work later... the combined work of Spybot, ComboFix and HijackThis got the PC running as it should do. Fingers crossed the damn software's dead.

    *VERY DEAD*!

(Note: This post has been moderated by myself. I guess I'd get a warning from the over-zealous forum mods if I'd not done so)

Hope you got it sorted now. I had a problem with something similar a few years ago. Everytime I deleted it, it reappeared. Had to go into Dos and delete three files in a certain order to clear it completely. Angry [:@]

Its a bit late now, but when I went round this loop on my Dad's PC, I discovered that if the virus had been there a while, it would end up in a restore point and so re-infect the computer every time it rebooted - you had to boot into safe mode (or Dos) to get rid of it.

You've got a leg up on a lot of people. Most of the friends I help out haven't a clue about DOS.

I know and with XP and Vista Microsoft hide Dos now, so they aren't going to learn either. Sad [:(]

Those of us who learned our trade using Command Line interpreters, can reap the rewards now. Big Smile [:D]

What annoyed me tonight - seeing that the grip for a D300 is £249 but in the same store a grip for the D200 is £65!  That is a rip-off!  There is no justification for that at all.  Guess I can do without for now Angry [:@]

Some of us also learned DOS without having to go running to "google" (heh, even Alta Vista wasn't around in those days).

Some of us didn't even have a DOS manual.
