    Re: Photo of the Day

Kacos - Unfortunately I do have to tweak a bit in photoshop - a bit of levels, unsharp mask and a bit of  cropping. But I do seem to get fairly good dof from the camera, even with it being a p+s well, it does have a few manual settings. Hoping for a dslr one day, but for now it will do and it's not too bad to learn with! Btw - nice butterfly!!

    Re: Photo of the Day

    Hi

Rickleng, I like the clouds, just shows the horizon dosn't have to be level to get a cool shot.

    Flea, cool low light shot.

Mmmikey, The shot of the man fishing is very good, and the storm shot is great too (so its not all sun out there after all :D), The shots of grand baie and the pineapple are excellent, with lovely colours.

Kacos, I love the butterfly (whats it sitting on?), the black and white shots good too, very moody. The shot of the bee in the flower is ace (i've tried this with my compact, and mine came out blurred), and that dog looks very relaxed :).

This is my shot, it shows a tropical creeper called a Jade Vine, growing in the Glasshouses at Cambridge Botanic Garden. It is almost luminous, and the colour is very hard to capture, with film or digital (theres some slightly closer ones in my gallery)

    Hope u all like it,

    Rob.

that's a mosquito net - I have it in all my windows ..The original photo was vertical, but I liked it better this way, so I simply rotated it.

rob - that green plant is pretty unique, kool shot!

flea - looks like a successful workshop, you got the timing just right Wink [;)]

Bordefox - nice horse shot. i'm thinking of purchasing a EOS 350D but not yet researched all possibilities, tho may save up the extra cash for a EOS 5D.... early days.

kacos - really nice composition. love the angle crouched on the bank looking up at the sky..
