    Re: Post your best here...

Here's one from my gallery that's been getting a few comments. It's one of my favourites as this was my first attempt at shooting lightning and I was pretty pleased with how it came out. I did have to touch it up slightly in Photoshop, but only a little.

Focus on the positives in life!

    Re: Post your best here...

Gidge...tremendously powerful picture - if this was a first attempt I am even more impressed! Been trying to catch soemthing like this for ages. Do you live in Perth then? We have relatives there...

Thanks for the comments on the bridge pic -this was taken after reconstruction at The Black Country Museum. It was originally in Wolverhampton in Broad Street, and as a child it was the darkest,  gloomiest, dampest  place in town! Very scary when you are only 8! In those days horses still pulled narrow boats (please don't call them barges!Smile [:)]) though the canal and you could see the marks of generations of ropes on the brick work. The BCM is a great photo shooting location if you like Industrial Heritage stuff - I could go on at length about the part that this area played in the building of the country and empire!!Wink [;)]

When you believe it, you will see it!

Agreed, Alex Mac's gallery is fantastic.

Gidge if that was your first attempt at lightening then that is an absolutely stunning shot very very well done.

Here's one of mine that seems to attract a few comments, although to be honest i am not entirely sure why

    Thanks again David.

I'll tell you why I like your Bridge Image and why it attracts coments. The composition is spot on. The exposure is just right and the sepia feel to the colours and lighting are great. You have captured it perfectly.

another cool cat, i really like the way its head is "side-on" so you get his markings / body in the background.

Thanks for your nice comment shelfy.

    Re: Post your best here...

Fantastic atmosphere in this pic nice one BoltonDave

Just one other thing Alex, regarding the sepia comment you made about my bridge shot, that shot is posted as is without any alteration in Photoshop at all, its just the night lighting that gives it that effect
