Some absolutely cracking pictures being shown here, Gil, Harry, Boltondave, Angelfire, and Misty. If some of these shots don't end up on the front page as picture of the day there is something deeply deeply wrong. Great work you guys

    Re: Post your best here...

Yup, they are good shots in this thread. There's been too many to keep replying and saying "Good photo" (that's my excuse and I'm sticking with it).

"Picture of the day" quality? Well, mine aren't... and I'm glad. Wink [;)]

    Re: eagle

Ray really nice colours and tones but I find my eye roaming around wondering what to settle on because of the framing and angle. It helps to have your eye led to an area of the picture. Hope you don't mind me saying so. Aways makes me nervous commenting anything other than ....'Great photo'.

Here's one from the same market that I know some here have already seen. Believe me it's hard to get a shot without the person smiling or reacting to you....but this poor bloke had nothing to smile about.

I came, I saw -but I didn´t really get any feedback, did I?

I´ve done three posts on this community. Didn´t get ANY comment. Got one vote for each picture.

    One star all of them.

I suck- I get that. But would ANYBODY please give some kind of comment?!?

This thread gave me hope and I asked for comments on my "Caught in the light" page 5 this forum. I ask for advice. I ask for feedback. What can I do better? I want to learn! Maybe my work just leave everybody indifferent. Anybody - before I log out and just stop this photohobby alltogether- any suggestions or opinions, PLEASE?

Trust me... 1 star means nothing on this site. Lots of good photos get the "1 star treatment". That generally means that someone saw a photo of yours, saw that theirs were worse, so decided to give the photo a 1-star rating. The lack of comments only stacks the evidence up on such things.

Personally, I wasn't sure about the photo you supplied for this thread. I'd have gone more for the "Sunshine" photo in your gallery.

I actually quite like your pic, i thought i had posted a reply however what i would say is that the black bar through the middle i personally find a bit distracting, but it is a great pic nonetheless

    Re: Post your best here...

THANK you Dave & Dave!!! I totally get the distractionproblem from the line in the middle. Actually thought of cloning it away but frankly couldn´t do a god job at it. Come to think of it: maybe I can just crop it off and then put the bottom and top half together... Looked through your work boltondave and  although I liked the grain and light in your photo of the snowdrop it felt a bit tilted, I usually appreciate a diagonal in a pic but not here I´m afraid.. I LOVED your "growing up" picture in the bird-album though. The contrast between the blur in the background (with great colorvariety that enhance the bird) and the sharp bird itself together with it´s wonderful expression -Super!

Dave C - your bridge has a magic and warm tone to it and the gracious lines I love. I would definately crop the building on the left hand side off though.

Now, you have renewed my enthusiasm for photos - Taking them, sharing them - as well as enjoying looking at others - thank you for that!

    Re: Post your best here...

I commented on your pic, said it stirred my imagination, now if you read the post's carefully you'll see no one and I mean no one made any comment on my humming bird. so it must really stink!

    Foster,

It looks good but was just a little small to really stand out.  I'll look in your gallery and see if it is there.

Just adding one of mine to the mix. Just started modifying some of my images and looking for unbiased opinions. Thanks in advance
