Weekend competition - The Best Photographer in the World (21st and 22nd October 2006)

The Best Photographer in the World 21st - 22nd Oct, 2006

Its getting tougher to choose a subject as the weeks go by, I had 3 in mind, Fire or flames, but thought maybe I should leave that for whoever sets the comp on bonfire weekend, the other was landscapes, but I decided on

Doors, Gates in fact Entrances of any kind, but in Black and White

From grand entrances to rotting gate posts, a great excuse to explore the ins and outs of striking black and white photography and of course how to go about converting or capturing striking black and white photos.

Good luck all and happy snapping !

    oRGie..

Here are the rules as posted by Cedar..

Hopefully you have read the above message, this is what you need for the competition. These are your instructions for the competition.

You must stick to the instructions. If your picture looks like it has not been taken by following rules and you win, you will be asked for a RAW/JPEG original. The winner will be asked for a JPEG version of the file so we can check the time and date it was taken.

You have from Friday night/Saturday morning 00:00 until Sunday 23:59 (your local time) to take your photo and post it up. Your photo must be posted in this thread before Monday noon (12:00) (BST). No photo will be accepted if it is not on by this time.

At this time Cedar will make a poll available in a new thread. Anybody can vote, whether you have submitted a photo or not. You can only vote once per registered DCmag username You may also vote for yourself but I would hate to be the idiot that won off their own vote!

When the votes are counted I will ask the winner to supply me with a small original version so I can check the time and date on the properties. ALL SHOTS MUST BE TAKEN ON THAT WEEKEND FROM MIDNIGHT FRIDAY - MIDNIGHT SUNDAY (local time). This makes it fair as the winner may have a good pic he took 2 years ago, making his life easy for the following weekend.

I will then officially post the Winners name. They must then add their Winning title "The Best Photographer in the World 21st-22nd October 2006 (Weekend date you win) and start a new thread called:

Weekend Competition: The Best Photographer in the world (28th-29th Oct 06)

and post your instructions. Your instructions can be anything, however easy or hard. Make your instructions fully clear.

Even though we may get all this done by Thursday 7pm, you can only start the comp in the given time. That makes it more interesting and fair.
I hope this is clear and I really hope you enjoy the rest of the weekend! Good luck!

It's a "sticky". There's no need to 'bump' it to the top of the page... it'll always be there until the "sticky" thing is removed.

Tough one this week had a few to choose from but chose this one, as I was taking the shot my niece walked through the doorway.

I took quite a few today and processed 7 of them.  My wife liked this one best and who am I to argue?

    Gate

I'll post the rest in the rejected thread

Oh well, I have stopped dithering over which to choose. I actually prefer the Locker & Padlock shot but think it probably stretched the definition too far. - Jack
