I think so. Had a nice afternoon in town taking pics of stuff I probably wouldn't have thought of doing otherwise. I was initially a bit hacked about specifying black and white but in the end I quite enjoyed marching around trying to think in B+W. Also learnt a couple of new conversion methods too.

I think the weekend comps are an excellent idea. I normally just go out for the day and snap whats there but having a theme and a quite restricted time frame really adds to it.

Maybe DCM could put some money up for a prize? I dunno, a memory card or something won't break the bank will it

I'm not suprised lots enter though as it's such a fun idea. It forces you to think about taking pictures you wouldn't normally and gives you an excuse to make a trip out to take pics over a weekend. I'm really enjoying it and looking forward to one day being able to compete

I enjoy the time spent with the competition. It's nice to have a subject that makes you think outside of the normal subjects you might choose. Particularly nice to get the feedback on what might improve the shot.

Still sitting at "nil" points, though , I can only surmise that no-one likes to be reminded of airports.

I like your entry too...had a difficult time choosing between david and your entry...I do like the B&W effect, especially the light reflection on david's...so I voted for david

Thanks OldBoy for your comments and vote there have been some excellent shots submitted this week, well done to everyone.

The weekend comp is a great learning exercise and I have learnt a lot not just from my own images but also from other images.

I think DCM should devote a page in the Magazine each month or each quarter showing wining images of this comp it would be nice to see your work in print.

Look forward to this weekend’s subject.

It was a close one. As for ideas for next time pic something you're rubbish at or that's so far away you can't get to in a weekend.

I have some ideas but I'm saving them for when I win a few times.
