Weekend Competition 4th & 5th November - Best Photographer in the World

    This weeks competition is:

    FIRE/FIREWORKS/FLAMES

This could be any sort of fire, bonfire/garden/or any other. Any fireworks at all, you could even throw in a Guy Fawkes.

    Good Luck!!

Here are the rules as posted by Cedar..

Hopefully you have read the above message, this is what you need for the competition. These are your instructions for the competition.

You must stick to the instructions. If your picture looks like it has not been taken by following rules and you win, you will be asked for a RAW/JPEG original. The winner will be asked for a JPEG version of the file so we can check the time and date it was taken.

You have from Friday night/Saturday morning 00:00 until Sunday 23:59 (your local time) to take your photo and post it up. Your photo must be posted in this thread before Monday noon (12:00) (BST). No photo will be accepted if it is not on by this time.

At this time Cedar will make a poll available in a new thread. Anybody can vote, whether you have submitted a photo or not. You can only vote once per registered DCmag username You may also vote for yourself but I would hate to be the idiot that won off their own vote!

When the votes are counted I will ask the winner to supply me with a small original version so I can check the time and date on the properties. ALL SHOTS MUST BE TAKEN ON THAT WEEKEND FROM MIDNIGHT FRIDAY - MIDNIGHT SUNDAY (local time). This makes it fair as the winner may have a good pic he took 2 years ago, making his life easy for the following weekend.

I will then officially post the Winners name. They must then add their Winning title "The Best Photographer in the World 28th-29th October 2006 (Weekend date you win) and start a new thread called:

Weekend Competition: The Best Photographer in the world (4th-5th November 06)

and post your instructions. Your instructions can be anything, however easy or hard. Make your instructions fully clear.

Even though we may get all this done by Thursday 7pm, you can only start the comp in the given time. That makes it more interesting and fair.
I hope this is clear and I really hope you enjoy the rest of the weekend! Good luck!

Oh, I think we'll be able to set fire to something and take a photo...

Actually, where I live in Holland, it's illegal to have outside fires. All combustion must be done inside the house or in the engine of a car... Sad [:(]

That said, on New Years Eve, the Dutch are positively lethal with their handling of fireworks. They have one week to use them and spend the time throwing fire crackers at each other, shooting bottle rockets down the street (not into the air as intended), shooting fireworks through people's letter boxes, etc....

It depends entirely on what you try to shoot him with. I'd suggest a fire hose.

It doesn't have to be a big fire could be a single flame I suppose you know a candle, whatever. Lots of people have chimneas (not sure of the spelling) in their gardens now that would come under fire.:)

Sorry Hevans never thought that abroad you may not be able to have open fires sorry.

Edited the title and included the word flames now that could cover most things I think, I did ask for suggestions:)

Thanks, for that. I'm sure I'll muddle through somehow. Looking forward to this one. Getting the exposure right with flames is not terribly easy.

Thanks for the thought Dan. We only see fireworks on New Year's Eve or at Tiger Woods' wedding. To TT: don't fret, this is an interesting and to me at least an exciting project (poor lad, needs to get out more).

And to you all in the UK, BE SAFE!

I feel that even though not everybody will have the opportunity to go to a bonfire or firework display.  The fire and flame element will show how all of us can be creative in our own way and I am looking forward to see the entries this week, me I will be at the bonfire tonight!!!!

    Good luck
