the sky seems too dark against the brightness of the water

perhaps if you crop the bottom third of water off and loose the bright spot at the bottom it may work better!

Heres one i took on tuesday

Yes Pk i would have to agree with Filter here. The glow on the bottom needs to be cropped,

Filter your picture has a great moody feel to it. I just feel that if you would have follow the golden grid rule (or what ever its called) and place the statue with in where the line meets it would balance the picture out. Still a very good picture...

    Well thats mine fire away.

Hi ray i like the area on the right where the plant meets the dark blue sky, but on the left side it doesnt work as well with the cloud because theres not as much contrast.

This photo was taken on xmas day of my friends open fire - i like it but im not sure it has much technical merit what do you think????

Hi Ray, I like this one especially the contrast between the background and subject, what lets it down for me is that the lower folige and shadows look a little muddy (for want of a better word) and could do with a bit more light and detail bringing into just that area....just for your consideration.

I know what you mean and i have come to realise that but the strange thing is that when i print it of on my Canon ip5200 it seems to fine. Infact i have a larger version on my wall and it looks ok (a lot lighter in the shadow area) i'll see if i can do two different version.

Love the colours on this one crafty but i can't help but feel it's to central perhaps if it was set to the left of frame so it's leaning in would make for a more balanced shot!

Crafty your comments were never the less much appreciated. I should have a version that looks as good as the one on my wall.

I like your picture a lot but that little plant next to the main one is a little distracting. But good lighting and well taken.

    Ok here goes.

This one was taken on my honeymoon a couple of months ago. I like it, but no-one else seems to like it. :(

Now i like it, the only thing i would say is it is a bit flat, perhaps use curves to pull the fish out a bit!

    Great capture though

This is daisy, she likes grass and chewing the cud

    Filter

Thanks for the critique.  The picture was extremely flat in colour and I thought it looked better in black&White, but I might have another go at it.

    Love the Daisy picture.

I think the distant coastline should be horizontal and there should be some detail in the foreground because there is too much silouhette for my taste, but I do like the composition and the lighting (if I haven't just contradicted myself).

The clouds to the left are distracting so perhaps a vignette effect would keep the eye on the grasses?

You are crafty indeed as this isn't on your gallery so I couldn't see it full size.Smile [:)] I would crop in from the left (sod rule of thirds) to get rid of the grass bottom left. Apart from that I think it's wonderful - the lighting is magic and the colours are rich.
