    Simmotino:

Too far away for the smell of the fumes sadly, but close enough for the noise!

Eurofighter on the schedule for the rest of the week with a full display pattern, so plenty of window rattling to be enjoyed.

Friday is the day though, the Avro Vulcan takes to the skies. It will be fantastic to see that in the air again.

Oh it's not something I miss - the refuelling point was right next to our office and if the wind was in the wrong direction it was hell! Ick! [+o(]

Oh yes I remember Eurofighter, every time I got off the plane at Warton, it did a low level test flight - I'm sure the test pilots did it on purpose - no fun having a full speed jet at what seems like 6 inches from your head Angry [:@]

Now my brother worked on the Vulcan for a while, wish it would do a wide sweep to take in Guildford Big Smile [:D]

Re: What made you feel good today?

Just been looking at my shots from my first real commission today - a luxury end B & B going into Johansen`s guide. Took me 6 hours all yesterday with the owner ( a keen interior designer type who knew exactly what she wanted, even when it was not actually possible!) alongside me all day. Really difficult shoot but I think I nailed it. In a desperate desire to do my first one right I was far too accommodating and did far more shots than any pro would do for the fee agreed I am sure - but it was fun!

Now I just have to do the raw conversions for all 285 using Capture NX2 that I have had for all of 8 days - steep learning curves.

Oooh and after having been persuaded to do a temporary 4 day a week contract back at work I officially leave on my voluntary early retirement proper, at least for a few months.

Now anyone got some paid photography jobs I can do? Smile [:)]

    WMMFGT?

Getting back from a quick trip to Montreal to be collected at the airport by the Wife and kids with a banner.

Also: WMMFGY? getting upgraded from economy to world business on the flight home. First time I ever really slept well on a plane - downside was there was a strong jet stream, so the flight was 1/2 hour shorter than normal, meaning I didn't get to enjoy the perks of the upgrade for as long as I should have Wink [;)].

What did the banner say? "Go back, we don't want you!" Wink [;)]

I found something to distract me from my task of saving for a 70-200.

I want a mamiya rz camera. They have some strange appeal to them!

Re: What made you feel good today?

I came third in a poetry competition! Big Smile [:D]
Iv'e won £25 of whsmith vouchers, so thats alright!

    Here is the poem.....

    That Pink Flower

    Love strikes once again,
I've fallen, but the others are not forgotten.
    Love blossems like a tree with bright pink flowers;
As we try and reach the one at the top,
    The one we can't get.
There's a sudden rush of excitement and a new one bursts open at the bottem.
We look at the beauty deep within it, with our eyes open wide and our heart beating fast.
The beauty and love, you, yourself can only see-
we smile and melt inside, and think, lets have it!......

Lets have this pink flower, hold it and never let go.
Never let go of the thing you love so dearly.

    We all know we fall when we cant get that flower;
But we can get back up and realize,
    love will come again,
come in a strange, wierd and wonderfull place.

I've realized not to wollow, be strong.
Be strong like that flower gripping onto that branch.

I reached for that flower at the bottem, the one i can reach; and its beautifull.

The connection of our love has blossomed-
    Body, spirit and mind.

Exhausted! I've been working with overtime since thursday! (37.5 hours once breaks have been deducted, that is if I took all of them!)

But my supervisor let me go home half an hour early today. So its all good. I have tomorrow off, so I can sleep it off!

Re: What made you feel good today?

Trying to photograph young Swallows about to leave their nest (and chasing the ever hopeful cat away). Failed to get the shot I wanted when adjusting ISO, so I still have a challenge for tomorrow!

Well done N - I like poetry that makes sense and provides new thought. ( PS. I can still remember the heady smell of Mackintosh chocolate over the Chapelfield Gardens while listening to the brass band, and the walk past the Theatre Royal to the colourful market awnings - I bet Norwich has changed somewhat from those distant days of childhood.)

    Regards

    Andy
