Finding out that the work I paid Sigma to do on my 28-105 lens hadn't been done! I got it back the other day after sending it off to be rechipped and to have the iris fixed... They'd fixed the iris but forgot to rechip the bloody thing!

So I had to send the damned thing back to 'em again.

Still, everyone's entitled to make a mistake and the chap I spoke to at Sigma this afternoon was very helpful and apologetic... I don't envy the poor sod who's going to get his backside kicked for not checking to make sure the work had been done in the first place though.

On getting to work this morning, you find the entrance to where you park your motorcycle is full of smokers who aren't allowed to smoke on the station. So I took a wider than necessary turn into the entrance, the front wheel went through a puddle of extremely slippy mud and both me and bike end up in a heap. Luckily there wasn't too much damage.  They didn't hang round long when they saw petrol dripping on my exhaust pipe. It's amazing how strong you can be when you need to pick something up in a hurry.

Yesterday it was taking the wife to hospital for cancer surgery, only to find that she may have been exposed to MRSA in the referring hospital, requiring quarantine and special procedures/protocol - surgery being deferred to the last session of the day instead of the 2nd.

An hour after she went into the theatre the word from the other hospital came through with an all clear - but they didn't propagate it down to the surgery ward, so she spent a further couple of hours in isolation while recovering.

Still don't know if this session was enough. find out in ~ 10 days.

what a dreadful thing to happen.. its just not good enough .. my daughter is severely anemic and the though of having to go into hospital terrifies her due to her having low imune system to start with means she has such a high chance of getting it.. as must have been the worry with your wife..

i do hope your wife recovers quickly..

my lack of money keeps rearing its ugly head and it just puts a dampner on what would otherwise have been a really good day.

Thought i would do the hovering while my wife is out at her second job (i do this a lot,the housework,i am a new man!!) only to re-injure my discolated neck vertabra.

that hurts and has made me cross with the hover.
