Re: What annoyed you today?
Lord of The Rings Magazine subscription...
This could also go under the "If I Ran My Business" thread
Being a big fan of Lord of The Rings (books film etc) I subscribed to the LotR Chess Magazine (I know I know not much above a trainspotter but my choice and money ok) . In March they had a limited edition Armoured Troll figure for £11.99 (You don't need to tell me I said I KNOW ok)
So I ordered it online paid me money and sat back to wait for it, various issues dropped through the door complete with the figures but still no ltd ed armoured troll, so I sent an e-mail, I got an automated reply saying they had received my email blah blah blah. Still no response so in June I sent another e-mail again automated response....finally today I phoned them to be told "No e-mail order ever received and the armoured troll is now out of stock, we never received your e-mails and there's nothing we can do" That was it, so I asked to speak to supervisor not because of the call taker Iwas speaking to but more because I felt I hadn't had a proper explanation and no apology, when I asked to speak to the supervisor the operator asked why (I work in a call centre and do the same thing so knew where he was going) I explained it was in relation to the fact that nobody had even had the courtesy to contact me re the original order not being able to be processed.
He huffed and under his breath muttered "Fine" BIG MISTAKE HUGE MASSIVE MISTAKE, as I said I work in a call centre so I know how sensitive the headset mikes are...Got to speak to the manager oh my what fun I had, eventually she agreed to send me the new limited edition figure (the Olliphant as Samwise referred to it as) free of charge apologised that no-one had contacted me re the original "lost in cyberspace order" and apologised for the operator, who I had not had a problem with unitl he made the mistake of giving me attitude when I had been nothing but courteous and polite (really really I had)...So why has it annoyed me because I wanted the entire collection and now I am a limited edition figure short and no way of getting my hands on one so yeah pretty annoyed about that.![Crying [:'(]](/emoticons/emotion-9.gif)

Re: What annoyed you today?
I went to the shoe store to get a new pare of shoes(they have those at shoe stores dont they?) and the only pare I could find was a stupid looking pair of small-spiked cletes. The worst part is they're rectangles, they look so wierd ![Angry [:@]](/emoticons/emotion-12.gif) .

I'm not surprised, I don't believe that the people who act this way are doing it in a vacuum, it's inherent in their personality. They'd do the same thing in a grocery pushing the cart.

Re: What annoyed you today?
Bloody TV adverts each time a break comes around the same things over and over.
just been on and each was vomit inducing.
Them 3 pink bints screeching about womens car insurance, flollowed by some bank employees singing and dancing in the street, followed by a fat fella in a clowns suit screaming about double glazing, then to top it all some silly *** borrowing money over the phone screeming
" Josh, Dads found ya scooooootahh "

Re: What annoyed you today?
What annoyed me were the almost coordinated assaults on everything they don't understand by a gang of people who have for some reason all chosen South Park avatars. Does no one see any irony in trashing the negative aspects of American culture (mind, much of it more-or-less true, despite the naivete of the critics) while wearing a South Park emblem? Or is this intentional irony? Frankly, I wish it were, but that doesn't seem to be the case. No one loves a bully, and I'm prepared as an American to be hated, or at least despised. But for chrissakes, don't be like those Near Eastern 'critics' who burn an American flag while wearing American sports team t-shirts. We never asked you to copy us, so purge yourselves of American influence, but just stop your whining.

Re: What annoyed you today?
Cor blimey mate, who rattled your cage today? Yes it's another one of those quaint English expressions if you hadn't already worked it out. Talking about avatars - whose that hiding his face behind the camera? Could I suggest you lighten up a bit and not take things too personally - after all it's the Germans who are supposed to be lacking in a sense of humour: Oh sorry, I was forgetting there is a touch of the Teutonic claret running in your veins isn't there? Mine too, but at least I can still laugh - look here I am

Re: What annoyed you today?
"after all it's the Germans who are supposed to be lacking in a sense of
humour: Oh sorry, I was forgetting there is a touch of the Teutonic
claret running in your veins isn't there" There are a couple of books that are sold in the immigrant communities where I grew up (part of my family were Prussians who moved to Sweden in the 1630s) and they both reflect my heritage. One is "Scandinavian Humor and Other Myths," the other is "German Humor and Other Myths". What's funny about that? I guess my humor was a little too subtle. If I trolled a bit, it was because self-satisfaction and smugness do really raise the fur. Believe me, I don't take it personally, but neither should you all, but witness the responses to any and all challenges to your self-generated consensus.

The volume does go up, So as you go to make a brew or have a slash, you can still hear how much less you could be paying until you miss a deadline due to your retarded bank not taking the money out in time and they take you house and car, and ruin your financial credentials, and leave you living with your inlaws...

Re: What annoyed you today?
The way documentaries (documentarys?) insist on repeating themselves, telling us what has been discovered or what has happened so far every 5 minutes. Do they think we are goldfish? Honest, our short term memory is better than 5 mins!!!
