. If you want a prime example of poor service come and visit Holland. The Dutch have an expression, which they proudly inform us, has no translation in English: Gezellig! It's like the German "Gemütlichkeit", which is loosely translated into "cosiness".
A foreigner visiting often hears the natives exhorting how such and such a place is gezellig. After numerous trips to such places the only common qualities of these places is the service is excrement and there is a candle on the table. Needless to say, amongst the ex pats, "gezellig" translates into "Sh*t service and a candle on the table."
