These came straight out of the camera, is it obvious to anybody as it isn't obvious to me. I'm not sure what to be looking  out for.

The last one is obviously Photoshopped and doesn't conform to thirds but nonetheless it is one of my personal favourites. Taken at Kineton, Warwickshire, the site of the fiirst battle of the English Civil War, the Battle of Edgehill.

Tazzers great shots very gritty and real, the last one with the selective colouring is superb

What camera are you using? There's no EXIF information on any of your shots.

    ... at all.

    Simmotino:

Good shots there Matt, think I prefer the first to the second. There's something about that fallen gravestone that makes the shot.

Thanks, i had to stamp the grass down around it because it was completely covered and overgrown.

    I added the sky later.

Hello. Sorry about that its because they are saved for web and the exif is ommitted to save file size. I shall rectify this for future posts.

I am using a Nikon D80. The B&W portraits were taken with a 50mm f1.8 and the ISO is about 1600. The landscape was taken with my old 18 - 70 Nikkor AF-S.

Surprisingly, I had the mag a day after everyone was posting here about the forum members, Cathus, Filter99 and WayneD being in it. It seemed unusual as I think normally I'm about 2 weeks behind.

If the files are done via"Save for the web", then the images are not "straight from the camera".

It certainly was, I was thinking about going out and looking for it on the newstand to see what all the fuss was about and there it was in my mailbox. I waited a whole day! Patience pays off.

This is what stands for an abandoned castle here in Canada. Old wooden farmhouses.
