It isn't a problem with the amount of photo's cause mine just shows 1k 2.5k etc. What kind of card is it?

I don't have any issues with my Kingston 2gb card.

Ditto what Graeme said. I've not had any problems with mine - I've got 2 Sandisk 2GB cards and neither causes the problem you mention.

    Grrrr

Just bought a 4gb card and guess what ? The D50 wont recognise it.

Just read the manual and says cards up to 1gb yet I normally use 2gb ok.

Just as well my Panasonic z8 takes the card ok otherwise it would be tenner wasted.

Yup, the max the D50 will go to is 2GB as its normal SD whereas the 4GB are SDHC which the D50 cant read. Always thought that 4GB of data is a lot to lose if one card fails, much rather have 2 2GB (or even 1GB!)

D50 owners have been crying out for a firmware update for years to change a few things, but as yet there have been no updates.
