Have you noticed that the frequency of the daily updates isn't exactly daily. Do you think someone is losing interest?

You could be right but it's more likely they underestimated the amount to do after an extended break and they are trying to catch up. Classifieds have not been updated since Christmas.....

    Re: POTD etc

I get the feeling that a lot of us are getting disillusioned with POTD and the portfolios in particular and also the magazine in general. I used to look at the site every day but no more. I got onto Flickr which is great and the whole set-up is far more imaginative than DCM (sorry if anyone from DCM is reading this !). Anyone know of any other good sites ?

Hi Marcel, Have you joined DCM group on flickr. It's not run by them and it has a lot of the regulars on it.

thats just a general glitch in automated software.
something to do with the servers.

I think the POTD should be voted for by us, the readers and users, not a DCM admin that pops in every 2 weeks or so to change it.

    Re: POTD etc

I post on a few sites, and I've noticed that people are more mature in conversation and mentality on this site, but I still think there should be a higher level of moderation and admin participation on the site.
I know we have Lurky and now JD, but the site does run slowly, and the POTD isnt really fit for that title.
I love the site, but it does need more imput from higher above.

    Re: POTD etc

I was beginning to sense some good intentions on the part of the magazine... First with JD's 'promotion' and potential input to the site and also for actually managing to have two decent POTD's from ABERS and from Zuzana D. Both of whom are regulars on this forum and whose inclusion into the POTD 'hall of fame' is warranted.

However, things do not really appear to have improved. I used to look (wishfully) at the homepage in the hope that maybe one of mine had been good enough to be selected or at the very least, that the shot was from someone I've come to know on here although that happens so infrequently as to essentially stick two fingers up to those of us who do make the effort to keep this place alive. Shoving pictures up from people who might have one shot in their gallery posted when God was a child really doesn't do much to enamour the 'powers-that-be' to the rest of us!

So come on... Learn how to use the 'RECENTLY CHANGED' button on the gallery homepage and pick images from those who CONTRIBUTE to this place... In other words; we'll help to keep this place vibrant and useful and you'll recognise this by rewarding those who have made the effort.

    Re: POTD etc

I think it should just go back to us voting for it, but with careful moderation, from the nonexistant mods.
