    Re: POTD

My apologies but while I absolutely agree that Zdolez' pics are top quality, she isn't the only member producing POTD worthy material. She's had 3 in not much more than a week which is unprecedented since Tim Wallace fever back in the voting days (which at least had the legitimacy of democracy behind it).

I'm sorry, but whover is choosing them isn't looking widely enough.

Unfortunately we don't have that functionality - when we select a new POTD/mPOTD it 'overwrites' the old one.

However, a POTD log thread is a good idea - will sort that on monday.

    Re: POTD

I am bemused to see one of todays MPOTD has already enjoyed a front page showing in mid June. Now, it is a wonderful image and with absolutely no disrespect to the photographer, but I find it totally bewildering that Ant has chosen a pic that has already previously been selected for MPOTD. It's not like theres a limited choice for the team when there are thousands of images on this site worthy of the front page audience. Whats going on? Mandy

Not only are we being presented with the same types of picture every day, but now the same picture! This really indicates the effort and commitment that is put into choosing the images.

I think it's more indicative of the effort being put in to the site as a whole Alan!

I'm reminded of a song by Greenday "Wake Me Up When September Ends"  I'm sure I could read more into the lyrics.. but I am supposed to be working Stick out tongue [:P]

    Oh, and enough landscapes already!

    Re: POTD

Surely all that is required is a quick read of the previous comments by the people who had already commented and congratulated the person concerned.

This is in no way a criticism of Stuarts' fine take.  It was always deserving of the front page the first time round.

    Re: POTD

Again no criticism of the quality of previous front pages but it was refreshing to see the different styles on todays front page.  I think we all recognise that choosing the front page is not an easy task given the sheer volume of images to choose from but it is a great way to show the sheer variety and quality within the galleries.  I learn so much from seeing the way others look at the world. - regards - Nick

Some refreshing styles used in today's M/POTD, but I can't help observing this apparant need to theme POTD.. today's being animals. Come on guys.. a bit of variety wouldn't go amiss.

    Re: POTD

In total agreement with Nick. It's a pleasent change to see different subject matter making the front pages and not from the 10 or so members who are chosen day in and day out to be on the front page (no disrespect to those who are as they are great photographers) but it's nice to see a selection of what else is out there. Also the front page to me is a good way to discover those galleries which may have been overlooked by myself and other members, and hopefully provide some good sources of inspiration, especially for a learner like myself who is still finding their feet.

     Regards. Lee
