Great image Andy,
Been in a few of these in my days and jumped out of the back of a few in the dark also when there only supposed to be 4 ft off the deck,....and not been...lol
Oh no Tim, you didn't fall for that one as well, hopefully the cheerful "boys in Blue" were waving you a happy farewell as they headed back to the Mess for "Tea & Medals"
![Big Smile [:D]](/emoticons/emotion-2.gif)
Lol..yeah something like that Peter, I seem to remember a lot of sand being present and a sat position check that showed Army intel had also exceeded all expectations, as usual, and we were a mere 40 clicks out on the entry position, which all in all was such fun for us with 40 degree heat, a flat pan of open ground, and a 110lb bergan.... A few months on when we returned to the rear (holiday) position at RAF -Al Butlins Faw, I remember how we laughed and shook their hands with great passion and commited vigour...
Anyway, back to the images, I'll be off as webby will kick my ass if I put an aston pic on here...lol
Cheers lads
Tim

Re: Transportation- planes,boats and trains
Araaahhh! I remember that morning well, back in the days of film and the faithful old Nikon FM2.
I was 17 years old and had just landed my first job on a newspaper, the chief said that if I did a good job on this one he'd consider getting me that 24mm wide angle I was after and the MD12 motor drive...lol
The morning was crisp and cold and after just a few minutes we were upside down and I watched with some glee as my breakfast flew by my heading towards the unsuspecting early morning commuters into the city below. A year after that I'd join the marines and jump out of planes for fun, however on that day I was having too much fun to notice that I'd spent most of my time upside down.
I do remember this picture well tho, Tri-x rated at 1600 asa, developed in Kodak HC-110 for 3 and a half minutes at an adjusted temp of 24 degrees. A little grainy but punchy as hell. Printed on Kentmere (argh good old Kentmere, god that stuff was bad!) probably on grade 1...lol
Enjoy!

Re: Transportation- planes,boats and trains
Webby, great shots, I would love to have the chance of shooting air-air sometime, how did you wangle that.
Dave, your welcome, credit where it's due!
Tim, a cracker of a shot that I don't remember from before I'm afraid - sorry - as good as the plane is, my eye is drawn to that empty road, just look at it - bring back the 3 day week and fuel shortages I say. Fantastic Image all round.
One of very few shots I have of the Typhoon

On a recent trip to Salcombe I discovered that this used to be one of the Mersey Ferry's in the 1960' & 1970's. It is now used as a Bar / Social Club by the local Diving Club.

I personally expose for the sky, which means that I underexpose the ground, and aslong as its only a couple stops you can bring it back in ps.
