    The grumpy old gits thread......

....can't we put all our totally justified moans in one place...free of whinging about school??? What have those youngsters got to worry about? Not like our day!

Feel free to vent your spleen on society...and why things are'nt as good as they used to be......

    Is'nt modern music crap???

Re: The grumpy old gits thread......

How old do you have to be to participate? At 30, many of the oldies consider me a 'youngster' wheras to the teenagers I'm 'Well old innit?'. Stick out tongue [:P]

Modern music I don't mind so much - some is awful but there are still really great bands coming through.

The thing I hate most - text talk!! I've said it before and I'll say it again - it has no place in emails, forum posts or normal speech. When did it become uncool to use proper grammar?

Kids with their music playing out of their phones when they walk down the street.

Buy some HEADPHONES for crying out loud.

We know you are young. We know you have no taste musically. We don't, however, need to share said music with you!!

I am with you on this one. Worse is when they play it through their phones on the train, in the 'quiet zone'!! Oooooo - I can feel  my blood boiling!

How old do you have to be to join this thread - reading many posts today I would think that quite a lot of 25 year olds feel quite old on this forum. How grumpy do you have to be - most of the post in what annoyed you today are from apparantly grumpy school children.
Now I think the Gits department is mostly for the over 40's. but you dont need to be old and grumpy to be a git. My idea of a git is a person who has got over being a twit - being a git requires maturity.
Let the young people have their awful music, let them have their designer trainers - let them do whatever they want but please dont let them get in front of my camera....

Count me in. I can stand most kids and their ways, I have to having four teenage grandkids, but I don't seem to find them prattling on about non-descript airy fairy stupid air-headed irrelevant nonsensical self-obsessed trivia. If they did they'd get a clip round the ear!

Let the youngsters have their own thread and stop driving me crazy with bad grammar and absymal spelling, and incessant self portraits.

I like kids really, I used to go to school with them.

    Cheers... The grumpiest of Gits

Yes! Yes! Yes! This is the best thread ever! Now you've got me going, just try to stop me!

Mobile bloody phones! Noisy, stupid ringtones! People have to speak so loudly on them as well!

And they've got so much crap on them now - all I want to do is make a call, and they take half an hour to boot up they've got so much software on them. And bugs.

Worse than Nazi Germany, it is!

Re: The grumpy old gits thread......

Please can I join this thread??

I'm 44 and have recently found myself becoming less tolerant of almost everything - I moan about poor service, other drivers, 'the youth of today', television, radio....anything!

Mind you on the flip side to music being played too loud, when I pick my teenage kids up at weekends I can be happily talking to them about this and that only to realise later that they had their ipods on (and in?) and didn't hear a word I said. A common response these days from teenagers seems to be 'Huh?' as they remove something from their ears!

I bloody hate text speak as well...........and why can't they just talk to each other instead of sitting on the comtuter all day msn-ing(?).........I could go on.

Is it just me or has anyone else started to enjoy moaning? Cool [H]

What I want to know is, what's with the sudden urge to type like a educationally deficient chimp just because you have a mobile phone in your hand?

I have sent tens of thousands of texts to people over the years, and not once have I felt the urge to butcher the English language with the insertion of numbers or the removal of vowels.

Do they carry them round too close to their brains or something??

(I love this thread!!) Smile [:)]
