Just an idea but i know there are some stunning portraits tucked away in your various galleries so i thought a portrait thread might be a good way to show them off and share tips and ideas as well (and there seem to be treads for everything else) so just post your portraits and/or self portraits here ...

Well it's obvious that portraiture is a popular photographic genre.

 

I got a relatively cheap second hand ais telephoto yesterday, so thought Id give it a try. Theres ghosting and CA as would be expected from a lens that hasnt been coated in this and that to make it suitable for digital, but It was only £99 so I'll suffer it.

 

Shutter speed is 1/80 and the aperature was about f8 though its on in the exif data 'casue the lens hasnt got a chip in it...

The exposure was guessed also using a flashgun, and was taken over the shoulder into a mirror.

Wow - there are some great shots posted - i really like the different styles from the spontaneous to the studio, natural to post edited , and that last one Abers is just art - she seems to glow - an amazing effect.
