I find it totally repulsive that it should even be proposed that the repulsive old witch is given a state funeral. I always thought such events were for those that united the nation not those that split it down the middle. I hope street parties in mining areas are given the same careful planning.

I shall certainly get out my dancing shoes when she pops her clogs, and make sure I've taken a double dose of my diuretics if ever I visit her grave!

Yes I remember that one particularly well, especially when his horse came round under Admiralty Arch with a pair of gum boots reversed in its stirrups, caused quite a stir that. We all went orf to Pater's club for a cream tea and crumpets. I well remember the old chap saying his club in Wardour Street provided the finest crumpet in town.

Might try and get the same spot when Maggie kicks the jolly old bucket.

Just to let you know Asdew a state funeral is like most others that the Co-op provides, but with just a little more p'zzazzz: and usually attended by lots of people keen to get raw material for their rose bed. These are the ones with a bucket and a hand brush at the ready.

Oh my word. Apparently Zimbabwe is running out of banknotes because the printers can't get enough paper to keep up with hyperinflation. From The Grauniad

I see the 'Dogs of War' have been leashed onto Gorden Brown just as they were many years back against Margaret Thatcher. Why is it that the great British population think that all their problems will be solved overnight and that life will be rosey and wonderful again by changing the Prime Minister every five minutes or so? Britain is no more cushioned from world events as any other country and GB has no more control over speculators and futures buyers than the next man and no change of PM is going to alter that one iota. The saying 'the grass is always greener.......' springs to mind here.

No - a change of prime minister won't make things better overnight. What does bug a lot of us though is the way this government keeps saying its listening but does nothing to help. GB is either delusional or terminally thick. 10p tax fiasco - those on the lowest incomes still worse off - asked about it and he waffles on about how lots of families will be better off - stuff the low paid then! Putting up the road tax on older cars - nothing to do with being 'green' just a way of raising money, putting loads of car owners into negative equity. HIPS - total waste of time,so many people told them beforehand but they knew best, and just another obstacle to the ailing housing market - and of course there's stamp duty. Trying to outgreen all the other parties but being the only ones in favour of Heathrow expansion. And, of course , there was the matter of coming out with a plan to make things harder for the long term unemployed just a few days before the Glasgow East by election.....perhaps not a wise move.
Perhaps it would'nt be as bad if GB had actually been leader when the lemmings voted Labour in again. Like the Major government after years of Tory rule, this lot are tired and ready for the boot. Now if the deeply unattractive Mr.Balls was to take over would he be filtered out by the naughty filter I wonder...........
