    [Discussion] Animals

    Animals Category
    Wild, captive or domesticated

This thread is for discussion of your entries (there's nothing wrong with giving yourself a little exposure - post a link!), the techniques you used to create your shot, and to point out your favourite entries from other entrants so far.

    Confused [8-)] Re: [Discussion] Animals

Why at moment all entries seem to go straight into editors choice?

    Re: [Discussion] Animals

just looked at the animal section of the competition, again photos are again in readers choice with no votes.  How can they be in readers choice.  Who's choice.  This competition is getting ridiculous.  It is a mockery.  I thought all the problems were supposed to be sorted out.

    Re: [Discussion] Animals

    Hi,

I'm only new to this but most entries don't have votes or comments .. even spectacular, very creative ones. Is this normal? Do people start to participate as the deadline gets closer?

Re Animal category.. I almost didn't post my "pet" pic because it was a dog/pet pic .. but dammit it's a decent photo.. I hope "everyday" animals get a look-in as they are familiar and popular.

Re comments below.. I can't even view an editor's choice.

Okay.. nice to be in touch. Good luck to all and I'm enjoying the submissions.

    Regards, Liz

    Re: [Discussion] Animals

I have tried to 'capture the personality of the animals' in some of the pictures and in others certain personality trains seem to come to the fore of their own accord....

I think that this is my favourite image taken for the animals section, but feel free to check out the others.

These are my other animal entries:

I do think that there is a fair bit of personality in each of these animal shots but I would love to hear your opinion on them!

    Cheers, Nick.

    Hi Andy,

Thanks for your appreciation. I like the composition of your shot 'Trouble in camp.'

This is my first time in DCM competition, so I'm pleased to get noticed.

I'm still trawling through the photos to find a real favourite and I am amazed by the high standard in photography across the board. It is also interesting to note the differences in equipment and processing techniques used, to realise I have a very long way to go in bettering myself with the added investment into more diverse kit.

    Regards

    Andy

    Nice photo Viverde,

What time of day? I took mine hand held too as most spontanious shots usually are, and I guess I was very lucky to get the picture I got of the Tachinid with its jaws wide open.

And even luckier to manouver position for composition before this one flew away

    Re: [Discussion] Animals

Well from my understanding it shouldnt be in the competition. Sure the judges will know if it has been published before.
