    Re: Day out in Notts

I am interested in joining. Should be a 1 1/2 hours drive for me at most. Clumber Park or Newstead might be nice in a couple of weeks if the  Azalea's(??) are out.

    Re: Day out in Notts

My mother in law lives in Nottingham and me and the missus go down to visit fairly regularly (it's great having a direct flight from Inverness to EMA now).

We don't have any trips down planned for the immediate future so I'd probably have to be counted out of this meeting, but if this is going to be a regular occurance I'd love to try and tie one of my visits in with one of the meetings.

Unless, of course you all want to come to the Highlands? LOL Big Smile [:D]

I'll keep an interested eye on this thread to see what happens and like I say may try to get along to a Nottingham meet some time soon.

    Good luck with it.

    Cheers
    Ian

    Re: Day out in Notts

Sounds like it could be fun, It will cost me £11.00 to fly over and I would stay over. I will watch this to see if it firms up. I would be up for landscape or street...

    Re: Day out in Notts

Well we've had a suggestion of a date ie 3/4 May, I'd suggest the Sunday cos its a bit quieter if you want to come to Nottm itself. So please post if you are actually against Sunday 4 May otherwise I'll consider it proposed, seconded and carried.

I'm happy to do a bit of guiding, forgot to mention before we've got a very nice wildfowl reserve just outside the city as well.

Might be worth mentioning that the Big Uk Flickr Meet is in Nottm on 19 April. This might make you want to join in, go somewhere else or make no difference as the case may be.

    Re: Day out in Notts

    Three-quarters May, or 3rd/4th May? Wink [;)]
Either way, I doubt I'll be able to make that. Ah well... that might make it a peaceful event, with no (allegedly unpleasant) questions and comments thrown.

    Beurmp?

    Hows about Saturday 3rd May then.Smile [:)]

Somebody else can suggest a meeting place because I've never been to Nottingham so wouldn't know where's best - somewhere easily identifiable and convenient though please!

    veggiesosage:
anybody who takes a car and manages to park it in the Peak District at a weekend is either clinically insane or deserves an award for bravery, probably both but everything else is probably pretty much ok for car drivers.

Hi Veggie, could you explain the above as I've not parked in the peak district?

I'm keeping an eye on this thread too. I'll see what you choose though it would have be a last minute discision from me as sometimes I have to work weekends.

    Re: Day out in Notts

Just to get this back on the front page, I'm thinking that with the 3/4 being a Bank Holiday weekend, maybe people have other things on. I've got an afternoon BBQ invite for the 4th, but I could go to that later (sure it will turn into an all night session Big Smile [:D] ) Like Veggie says, I think the Saturday would be a bit too busy for the city center. The Peaks would also be extra busy being a BH as well. David, there are very few actual car parks in the Peaks, those that are there soon fill up. It gets very crowded. I usually got during the week. You can park if you know where you're going, more out of the way/ less popular areas.

What do other ppl think re the BH weekend. Is it a problem, or is it totally the right time??
