    Carl Jervis:

Any hollywood "re-imagining" of Japanese horror films. Dumbed down to the target audience, lacking the subtlety of the original, and replacing the jump factor with signposted set pieces.

So, anything with Sarah Michelle Gellar in then.....

You're almost right there Carl, I'd say any Holywood remake of anything e.g. Italian Job.

Worst Actor - any member of the Baldwin clan.

    Re: Worlds WORST Movie

Come on you lot, I can't believe no one has mentioned 'Open Water' yet! That has got to be the worst film ever. 2 people bobbing up and down in the sea for what seemed about 2 years to me, and if that wasn't enough every now and again (to relieve the boredom), it would change to a scene of a ghecko by a river for 30 seconds. Based on a true story?, how do they know, they were never rescued!

No point watching it now you know the beginning , middle and end. If I have stopped one person having to sit through that drivel then job well done to me!

    Re: Worlds WORST Movie

My wife insisted that I take her to see Chicago at the cinema a couple of years back.

It's the only film I've ever come away from with bruised ribs...........apparently I fell asleep after ten minutes and she spent most of the film jabbing me with her elbow to wake me up..........I hate musicals! Embarrassed [:$]

Has to be "Bandit Queen" by a country mile .... God, I still go ice cold now when I think about it. It wasn't even one of those "It's so bad it's good" films ..... truly dire.

    Metal Skin by a mile.

That and Kenny. Filmed entirely on a handicam apparently. We got the DVD and it lasted less than 10minutes before being turned off.

I agree with the comments about Will Ferrell too.

Worst movie ever was Independance Day.  Everytime it comes on tv I get mad.

Worst actor was Andie McDowell in 4 Weddings and a Funeral.  She ruined that movie in my books, terrible!

Reminds me of a brutal combination - worst movie/worst date. Twins with the comic genius of Arnie..., girl called Rachel, me snoring five minutes in....never took her out again.....

    Re: Worlds WORST Movie

Without a shred of a doubt Titanic (the girlie chic-flick crap from James Cameron). At 3 hours 14minutes it was pure torture - lets face it the real thing only took two and a half hours to sink and it felt like I was on it as I suffered the film.

And no, I couldn't walk out as we were on a supporters coach travelling up to Anfield to see Forest get stuffed which made the second half of the film even more depressing.

And don't start me on the feckin song Angry [:@]

For me it's either "The Core" or "Sunshine". Pseudoscientific clap trap whose "poetic license" ought to be revoked.

    Re: Worlds WORST Movie

Eeek! There are some films I actually quite like listed here!

I thought Total Recall was okay overall - yeah, Arnie and Sharon are a bit iffy - and it's certainly dated in 18 years - but I thought it was a good well rounded sci-fi story; Philip K *** and all that.

Granted, The Core is rubbish. But I thought Sunshine was at least pretty - not great, but one of the worst films ever? Pseudoscientific clap trap, absolutely, but not totally without cinematic merit.

If you want truly awful sci-fi - Battlefield Earth or The Chronicals of Riddik!

And I loved Napoleon Dynamite. The only point I'll concede here is that I can see how it falls into that love it/hate it category. I can well imagine someone totally dispising it if it doesn't appeal to them. But it appealed to me. I don't think it's a truly bad film.

Egregious US remakes of the classy Japanese/Korean horrors - totally agree with that. Should be illigal.

Worst film I've actually sat through recently - the 4th sequel to The Crow - Wicked Prayer. Absolutely unbelievable. I haven't seen sequals 2 and 3, but I'd wager they're just as pointlessly bad.

And for good measure - Guy Ritchie - and I'm not just jumping on the post Lock-Stock Guy-Ritchie-hating bandwaggon; I don't even like Lock-Stock - anyone who saw it 10 years ago and hsn't seen it since, go and watch it again. It's crap.

Ahhhh, that feels better. I'm going to post my favorites now. FAR too much time on my hands today...Embarrassed [:$]
