I'm a keen amateur and like to enter the competitions in the photography mags. The themes often give you a brief to shoot that maybe you wouldn't normally try so it expands your photography. It is also useful to get the feedback slips that Digital Photo and Practical Photography send you (yes I know I am on the rivals website!). They can maybe give you useful critism and urge you to do better.

I would be interested to see the magazine's side and see how many entries they get and what the pics are like. I would enjoy looking through lots of different people's photos. The galleries on here are good to see what everyone is shooting.

Just wondering how many people enter the magazine competitions? Photographer of the Year in Practical Photography, Digital Photo, Photography Monthly and of course Digital Camera. Anyone had much success? How easy do you think it is to get in the top ten in the mag? Do you want to win, get featured, or just enjoy entering, getting the feedback and taking part in general?
