It seems obvious from the threads on favourite bands and music that there's quite a big emphasis for many on loud guitar rock/metal/punk etc.etc., but what's your favourite chill out music? Sunny day lazing around or sunday morning music when you don't want your ears blasting.

I'd have to go with Miles Davis - Kind of Blue - always seems to voted best ever jazz album - or the whispering tones of Chet Baker - or the wonderfully cheesy sound of an american guitar duo of the 50s called Santo and Johnny - electric and Hawaain guitar music, really kitsch.

To chill our I listen to the likes of , Kenny Rodgers,Elvis Presley,Cliff Richard,Phil Collins Dean Martin. This list is endless, but perhaps my favourite is Queen.

I love Jack Johnson In between dreams. A cold beer, a warm day ohhhhhhhhh. Im off to the beach this weekend if it stays warm. Horraayy for the warm weather, if it lasts.

Okay, here goes... I usually 'chill out' to whatever I'm listening to, even heavy rock...but I know what you mean about not wanting your ears blasted though...

Music for a lazy summers day...

Aim, Nightmares On Wax, Goldfrapp, Air, Theivery Corporation, Sigur Ros, Massive Attack, Amon Tobin, Sebastien Tellier... then there's Handel, Bach and Beethoven's piano sonatas. Miles Davis - totally agree with Kind of Blue - and John Coltrane, Charles Mingus playing piano, Nina Simone. Buena Vista Social Club! And meloncholy low-fi singer songwriters: Nick Drake, Kings of Convenience, Simon & Garfunkel, Badly Drawn Boy, Tim Buckley - even a Radiohead album if the mood is right.

Pity we get so few lazy summer days really....
